The forecast? โ˜€๏ธ Hot. Our solution? ๐Ÿป Cold.

When the temperatures start climbing, we're reaching for beers that are made to beat the heat. SNAPPER is our 2.5% saison: crisp, refreshing, full of flavour and light enough to keep the afternoon going. DUSKY is a sessionable Sour IPA that's bright, hoppy and finished with a refreshing tart touch, made for long summer evenings. WHITEBAIT is our American-style wheat ale: soft, zesty and basically sunshine in a glass.

Whichever one you choose, we highly recommend keeping it close this summer. You'll find all three in the brewpub, on terraces near you, or in our webshop if you'd rather enjoy them wherever the sun takes you.

P.S. Cooling your neck with beer cans is optional. Drinking them is highly recommended. ๐Ÿ˜‰ And keeping hydrated with water a must ofcourse.

For Summer we are serving ice cold beers, and still a ton of fun events. Join us for our New Brew Nights to taste the freshest beers straight from the tanks, or drop by one of our monthly gatherings for homebrewers and board game enthusiasts.

And don't forget to save the dates for two highlights of the summer: on Saturday, August 15, we're celebrating everything saison at Saison Summer, with a day dedicated to one of our favourite beer styles. Every year, Carnivale Brettanomyces reminds us that beer can be so much more than something in a glass. It is a gathering where you come to to learn, to laugh with old and new friends from across the globe and to leave inspired by the people who share this wonderfully strange corner of the beer world.

Over the past four days we've watched brewers, drinkers, cider (wine, mead, coffee, shrub, teaโ€ฆ) makers, and the Brett-curious become one wonderfully odd congregation. There were sermons, revelations, tastings, late-night conversations and countless moments that reminded us why we fell in love with fermentation in the first place.

We were especially honoured to welcome Garrett Oliver to De Kromme Haring. Having one of the world's most influential brewing voices share his passion, knowledge and vision with our community was a genuine privilege, and a highlight we'll remember for a long time.

To everyone who travelled from near and far, poured beer, gave talks, asked questions, volunteered, helped behind the scenes, or simply showed up with a curious mind: thank you. Our biggest thank you goes to Jan and the entire Carnivale crew for creating something that feels less like a festival and more like a yearly pilgrimage for people who believe fermentation can bring people together.

Brothers, sisters and wild believers, the time has come once again to gather at the altar of fermentation. ๐Ÿฆ ๐Ÿป

From Thursday through Sunday, Carnivale Brettanomyces returns to De Kromme Haring. Four sacred days of tastings, lectures, strange experiments and the spreading of the Word of the Wild. The festival is, as always, shepherded by our own brewer Jan, who has assembled a congregation of brewers, makers and fermentation fanatics from near and far.

If you're attending, don't miss Brewing the Truth on Sunday, featuring Garrett Oliver of Brooklyn Brewery: One of the most influential voices in modern beer culture, he'll be diving into brewing traditions, innovation, and why beer remains a living, evolving craft. It's not every day a speaker like him makes the trip to Utrecht.

On Friday evening, our own Stephen will also be hosting a special brewery tasting, taking you through some of our beers, ideas and experiments.

Wiard and De Haring go way back - meeting up at the varied places where we supplied, and Wiard served our beers. For the last seven years Arendsnest is his home, the spiritual home of Dutch beer culture, where he is enthusiastically helping his guests discover great Dutch beer.

For Wiard, saison is the ultimate food-pairing beer. The dryness and carbonation helps cut through rich, fatty dishes, and in his eyes there's a saison out there for just about every meal you can imagine.

The holy trinity: studying, working, and drinking beer. That's what life currently looks like for Jim.

When we visited him at Cafรฉ De Zaak on his day off, he'd just finished a long weekend of shifts and was enjoying the third part of that trinity: a bottle of Les Perles du Homard.

For Jim, this saison feels closest to the classic expression of the style - layered, dry, and full of history. It's the kind of beer he loves sharing stories about with guests across the bar.

And soon, you'll be able to sample it too in our upcoming saison tasting box.
