KIIN Thai Underground Kitchen is a unique establishment where our kitchen is literally in the basement! a few set of stairs to bring the fresh and flavorful Thai dishes to you. We're bringing to Mount Eden our signature dishes including KIIN Pad Thai, Tom Yum, Panang Curry. We use locally sourced produce, traditional ingredients, cooked to order.

We’ve seen some confusing real estate listings out there, but don’t worry—Kiin Thai isn’t going anywhere!
We are not selling the business; we are simply relocating.

Thank you for another incredible year, looking back to Jan 2018 when we first open Kiin on Mt Eden Rd, we’ve really come a long way. started with “1” chef on payroll, we now employ a team of 18 wonderful and hardworking staff across two locations with .akl
The team has served 59,561 food lovers who dined in, plus many more hungry people who ordered takeaway throughout the year.
We’ve donated to several charities, supported local school events.
We’ll also take this opportunity to say “Sorry” if we’ve made an error with your order or made you upset one way or another, it happens, we’re only human.
We thank you for your continued support throughout the year, we’ll be adding a few new dishes to our menu and look forward to seeing you in 2026 ❤️ 🙏

2025 has rolled around rather quickly, we have been slow with everything throughout the year, largely due to our mental health. As a small business we need to save where we can and that meant we have to wear many hats and fill many positions.

We opened Khao Gaeng .akl in July 2025, an interesting Thai food concept for our customers, please check it out if you haven’t already.

We have also been busy in the kitchen improving some of our recipes, tasting and developing new dishes. we look forward to sharing some of those with you in 2026.

Thank you for your continued support, we always remind ourself of how far we’ve come, our hard fought first few years weren’t easy.

Lastly thanks to our hard working team, hospitality isn’t a one man job and we need everyone to carry their weight, the team has done just that.

The "Pad Kra Pao moo sub" aka mince pork Basil stir fry has been a crowd favourite since its intro in 2018, we source fresh sweet basil and high quality pork mince all year round, with our chef's special sauces gives this dish the complete taste, add a fried egg on the side to give it the full package.

A delicacy for most, citrus and salty flavours with a kick of spice. Served with vermicelli noodle, cabbage and Kiin pork crackling.
