About Haser

Kairau 'Haser' Bradley, a Māori artist of Ngāpuhi descent, is a prominent figure in the New Zealand graffiti and street art scene. With over 20 years of experience, he has represented and exhibited his work internationally.

His art reflects his exploration of the alphabet in graffiti and tells a personal story of hope and vulnerability. Haser's studio works carry the same bold, graffiti-inspired motifs. He takes a non-traditional approach, using Māori art to bridge the gap between graffiti and his heritage, creating a space inspired by his ideal reality.

Don't miss out on Haser's on-site live painting this week in the studio and a chance to meet him. We're also running an next Friday, 10am - 11am. SAVE THE DATE 🤎

"I started my pottery journey at Auckland Studio Potters in 2022, where I discovered a profound love for the rhythmic art of throwing on the wheel and the creative flow of hand building. Drawing inspirations from organic shapes and vibrant colours of nature, my vases reflect the dynamic growth and adaptation seen in plants and sea creatures. These observations remind me of how humans are shaped by environment and relationships, continually evolving beyond our perceived limitations.

Born in China, educated in the U.S., and now living in New Zealand, my life has been a constant exploration of new horizons. While I‘ve always been busy moving forward and adapting to changes, pottery has provided me with a sanctuary to slow down, reflect on my journey, and reconnect with my roots in Chinese culture. Each piece I create brings me closer to understanding myself and my place in this world."

HOPHEAD

Painted on a broken mirror frame. The layers of black and dark blue paint on the background want to symbolise the broken mirror. Each crack tells a story of struggle, each shard a fragment of healing. Through the distorted lens of addiction, it's a raw portrayal of seeking solace in substances. Yet within the chaos, there's beauty—a reminder of resilience and the journey to self-discovery.

DYSPHORIA

1970 x 1150 mm

Dysphoria is a portrayal of the storm within. Dark, intense, and pulsating with raw emotion, it captures the whirlwind of a Borderline Personality Disorder meltdown, the profound sense of unease and discomfort. Every brushstroke echoes the fury and chaos, a symphony of anger and despair. Yet, amidst the darkness, there's a glimmer of hope—a reminder that even in the depths of turmoil, there's strength in vulnerability.

👆Notes from 🤎

A few days remaining to view Odyssey of A Liminal Mind, a captivating exhibition that delves into the mindscape of a borderline soul. Each painting in this series is a reflection of inner work and outer practice.

Be sure to pop in, grab a coffee, and enjoy the show ☕️
The exhibition ends this Friday at 2 pm.

🗒 Lora shares her notes on VOUTA.

"Vuota" holds a profound significance for me, symbolizing a time of emotional turmoil and resilience.

The decision to use a box as the canvas for "Vuota" was a symbolic choice inspired by the moment of emptiness I felt while unpacking a box of food at my restaurant. This mundane yet profound experience resonated with me, as the box itself became a vessel for my emotions and inner struggles.

By painting on something so ordinary and transient, I sought to imbue the artwork with a sense of raw authenticity and personal connection to the challenges I was facing in my relationships and professional life. The box, once a container of goods, transformed into a canvas that encapsulated my feelings of emptiness and the journey towards healing and self-discovery."

One week left to view.
We are open Monday - Friday, 7am - 2.30pm.
