Celebrated chef Nic Watt brings his passion for flavour and dedication to detail to Auckland with MASU, his Japanese robata bar and restaurant in the Federal Street Dining Precinct. The restaurant draws on Nic's exceptional pedigree, experience he has gained from running highly successful robata restaurants in London, Macau, Hong Kong and America. Robata is contemporary Japanese cuisine cooked ove

r a charcoal grill where theatre and drama are as much of the process as the eating. MASU's philosophy is based on the enhancement of natural ingredients, letting the food and the presentation speak for themselves while at the same time making each dish taste sensational.

What a week!

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for our MASU tuna experience last week, it was incredible to be able to share this with you.

A special shout out to and our team for breaking down such magnificent fish with precision and craft, for keeping the vibes high and of course, a special mention to for securing not one but two blue fin tuna to share with our guests.

May just got better 🍸

Two new cocktails, crafted to warm up your nights.

Ginger Highball — Maker’s Mark Bourbon, house-made ginger shochu,
topped with soda. Fresh, crisp, dangerously easy to drink.

Takumi — Banana-infused Maker’s Mark Bourbon, miso and butter washed
bourbon, azuki, chocolate bitters. Rich, layered, seriously indulgent.

Which one are you starting with? 👀
