I love Turkey - not the bird, but the country!
I came across this little restaurant, M.s Istanbul Corner. Ponsonby Central while wandering Ponsonby Central, on a recent trip to Auckland. The decor was super cute and the reviews on their food are fantastic, so I will be back, but it took me back to the 90's! My husband and I met in Selcuk, Turkey, in The NZ Carpet Shop, (I think it is now called Black Sheep Carpets!) Each year our anniversary is celebrated with yummy Lokum - Turkish delight. We took our kids to Turkey in 2009 and visited the same carpet shop with the same hospitable owner, serving us apple tea and yep, we came home with another carpet.
