A year has passed since our doors closed permanently. We moved on, we all continued with our lives and we can say that life is good! However, we will always miss the good old times of The Caffeine Laboratory. It’s not the space, it’s the people and experiences we went through daily for 12 years since we first opened in Shades Arcade.

Something we will always be grateful for, it’s YOU! For your massive support and for become more than a customer our friend.

The end of an era.

Words will never ever express our gratitude to Christchurch, its people, our families and the team that made possible this amazing journey called 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆.

I won’t say much because 100 emotions come through at the speed of a rocket….

Our doors at New Regent St are closed permanently as of Monday 18th of April 2022.

It is with heavy hearts we need to announce the closure of our New Regent St cafe. With our lease coming to an end, and after 2.5 years of extremely tuff COVID trading we have decided not to renew the lease at our current home. While it’s extremely sad, and we will miss our regular customers like crazy, we are looking forward to our new chapter somewhere else in the city! We just want to say thank you for your support over the last 9 years.
Our last day will be this Sunday the 17th, so if you can make it, come on down and bump a toast to the good times before then. Lots of love James, Cinthya and all the team ❤️
