The Sumner Pier was built in 1883-1884 from the stone steps right where The Beach restaurant stands today!

Pretty wild to think about - this spot has seen lifeboat rescues, surf legends, and countless Sumner stories. Now it's our turn to keep that tradition going, one meal and one cold drink at a time.
