And that’s a wrap. Today was our last day.

Thank you for every bit of support over the past six years — every visit, every chat on the deck, every coffee in the wind, every burger shared with friends.

Huge thanks to our wonderful suppliers, and to all the incredible staff who’ve been part of this amazing floating adventure.

After three years of trying, we haven’t been able to pass the baton to a new owner, so it’s time for us to close the chapter.

We’re off to write the next one ⛵️.

✨️ Thank you all for your kind messages online and for coming out specially over the last few days to wish us well. How humbling and a real life reminder of how special a place we have created.

So much so that we've run out of food and can't get resupplied until later today 😅.

Anyway, today's forecast is looking a bit gloomy, showery and windy at times so we'll take a rest day and be refreshed for the upcoming long Otago Anniversary weekend.

📣 Important Update from Coffee & Burger Afloat

After another round of… let’s call them character‑building purchase enquiries, we’ve made the call to wrap things up.

Coffee & Burger Afloat will be closing at the end of the month, with our last day of trading on Sunday 29 March.

All assets are up for grabs — either as a full package or individually. If you’re keen, get in touch with us asap.

🥇 We first launched it to coincide with the .taste.central competition, where it proudly took out top honours in its category.

✨️ Championing local producers is at the heart of what we do: craft our venison & thyme patties, create the delicious pinot noir onions, and turn locally grown apricots into our signature relish.

🔥 And each bun is branded with our logo for a special touch.

With school holidays still in full swing, we’re taking a breather tomorrow, Friday 16 Jan, as the forecast isn’t looking great for outdoor fun 🌧️

What a festive season it’s been out on the lake!

A huge thank you to all the bikers, walkers, boaties, kayakers, paddleboarders and water skiers who’ve stopped by between Christmas and now.

We’ve welcomed visitors from near and far — Japan, Canada, the US, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Malaysia, Argentina, Brazil, China, Australia, our beloved North Islanders (🤣), and of course plenty of locals. Always a treat catching up with neighbours over a coffee and a burger lake-side!

The forecast this weekend is looking pretty average with rain and strong winds, so we’re taking a couple of well‑deserved days off. We’ll be back on board Monday, 12 Jan.
