Hey hey Spooners! Long time no updates... well the beautiful Sarndra from The Wooden Spoon has ventured out on her own and started Boho Coffee Cart which is located on the corner of Florence St and Salisbury Road (next to the green dairy) come support her ❤️☕️😁 and for Monday the 13th it's $4 large anythings, hot choccy, latte, oat milk mocha.... come get it.

Hey hey Spooners ❤️

Just a reminder out there to all those bottom trawling keyboard cowards that there are in fact HUMANS behind every business and there are quite clearly facts about why some close that you are not privy to.

May I suggest a reminder of the timeless statement... if you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all. If anyone knows this absolute delight of a human perhaps you can pass on from me that this sort of 'review' is unnecessary and cruel.

Our business WAS good enough, our Landlord saw an opportunity to remove us from the building in order to line her own pockets by more than doubling the rent.

So I'll thank you Levin Barrett to keep your uneducated opinions to yourself.

I will add however that if you have a great experience anywhere... that is what you share on social media. If it's not up to par then be an adult and discuss it in person at the time so the business can remedy the situation or adjust procedures. Do not be so quick to tear down a place just because you can. It's an incredibly tough environment out there. It costs absolutely nothing to be kind.

Hey hey Spooners ❤️

And we're officially done. Keys handed back to the landlord this afternoon.

All of the things we owned sold off and mostly rehomed already. Look out for our chairs at Squires in Stoke. More tables n chairs at The Turf in Stoke and ovens etc and decorating touches over at CBD Eatery in Blenheim and Pastry Palace in Richmond ❤️❤️❤️. Make sure you support these good folks who took a load of stuff off our hands to help out. Appreciate that a bunch. To everyone else who snapped up a bargain over the Garage Sale days thanks also, my garage wasn't big enough to store it all.

Thank you dearest Spooners! You're the stars of this show and we'll be forever grateful.

Hey hey Spooners ❤️ we need to get this place commercially cleaned... now I know some of you are attached to cleaning companies but I can't for the life of me think of any of the company names... I'm a tad stressed and overwhelmed tbh.

We need the space commercially cleaned before the 31st of August, I apologize for the late notice. It was just brought to our attention. Such fun.

Bad news I'm afraid. The doors of The Wooden Spoon will close 2pm Friday the 25th of August 2023.

Despite getting 3 offers presented to us, a crucial selling point was taken from us and has resulted in our options being extremely awful after 11.5 years in business.

I believe the only option now is to take control of the last two weeks and make the decision to close and sell the chattels separately.

I'd like to thank Tash Mehrtens of Haven Realty for busting her ass to get us the last two offers. You did your absolute best with the situation we were forced into. I appreciate everything you've done❤️

Every chattel is for sale and we will be having an on site garage sale Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th from 9am till 12pm.

Oven, microwaves, underbench chiller, display cabinet, salamander, 20L gas deep fryer, plates, pots n pans, glasses, cutlery, tables, chairs, shelving, containers, plants etc etc everything must go.

So come along next week, say goodbye. We'd love to see your faces. Bookings would be appreciated 5444314

Hey hey Spooners ❤️ many of you have been with us from the very start way way back in 2012. We're excited to share with you that The Wooden Spoon is now officially on the market. We can't wait for some fresh blood to take over and bring The Wooden Spoon back to being the go-to place in Richmond.

With so many options of ramping up turnover we've no doubt that it's future looks bright and that Richmond will continue to benefit from this business being part of the community.
