La Ruca Food truck Traveling around different countries trying to found new flavors and ideas to bring more options to the different events around Marlborough.

Sebastian and Daniela met in 2004 in Chile, from there they start an adventure to the other side of the world Aotearoa, New Zealand, Both Chefs with the idea of show to the beautiful people of the “big White cloud” the amazing flavor of Latin America.

Did you know La Ruca and Smash Truck are owned and operated by the same local team? 🤔

Many people around Marlborough know us as either La Ruca or Smash Truck, but not everyone knows they're both run by the same family.

We started La Ruca to share our South American flavours with the Marlborough community, and later created Smash Truck with the same passion for great food and friendly service, this time focused on serving quality smash burgers.

So whether you visit La Ruca or Smash Truck, you're supporting the same local business, the same hardworking team, and the same commitment to quality.

A huge thank you to everyone in Marlborough for your support over the years. We couldn't do it without you, and we look forward to seeing you at both of our food trucks!
