Back at Whitcoulls today signing some more books with the kids. If you were so inclined, you could vote for your favourite kids book online or in store and perhaps there might be a chance I could get into the top 50 🤩🥰 and you could win an $100 Whitcoulls gift card too!

What a day! A huge thank you to everyone who helped, came along, had an ice cream, bought a copy of Walter & Wilma and supported us. I am so thankful and proud to live in Waimate and for all the wonderful people who we are fortunate enough to call our friends. And thank you to Leanne and her husband for coming all the way from Timaru to do the ribbon cutting. We are so proud to continue the tradition your family started in 1922 ❤️🥳😍🤩🍦

🎀 Our official ribbon-cutting ceremony with Leanne, the great-granddaughter of the original family who made and served ice cream from 41 Queen Street over 100 years ago.

There’s something rather special about continuing the tradition of serving ice cream from this very spot. Ice cream has been part of 41 Queen Street’s story since 1922, and we’re honoured to be writing the next chapter.

Get ready for another year of creativity, celebration, and incredible upcycling magic! This year we’ve made some exciting changes - including a brand new Pre-school category after we listened to the very important feedback from one disappointed 4-year-old who wanted to enter too 💚

We’ve also refreshed the adult categories, now split into Funktional and Upcycled Art, to better celebrate both practical creations and artistic masterpieces made from rescued materials.

And thanks to our amazing sponsors, the prizes are even bigger and better this year - while we’ve still kept the entry prices low so everyone can get involved!
