A customer came in today, he’s here for the long weekend and was looking for good coffee and said Chat GPT told him to come to Feoh. We didn’t believe him so we asked the bot ourselves and this the result. We like Chat GPT now 🤣🤣🤣

She has finally fruited 😍. This our rare pink Vietnamese pomelo. I now have seedlings to sell. I’m no gardener and have only learnt through trial and error and what I’ve learnt is that Waipu has great growing conditions for citrus. Pomelo is subtropical but they love it here. I’ll leave seedlings at coffee shop.

Here’s a great article on the history of the canelé and how it’s made

Originally called cannelé Bordelaise, these small, baked, custard pastries are temperamental and time-consuming, requiring skill to make and so very worth it. In the U.S., these complicated yet ever so simple treats are a dying breed, which is a real shame because they are so satisfying and unique ...

EftPOS, Cash, or bank transfer has never made more sense
We have never applied a surcharge and this will continue to be true for Holidays surcharge.
But we have to hand on bank surcharges.
For transparency I have attached our latest merchant statement.
Note that the lowest charge is 2.85%, this increases to 4.95% for domestic transactions. For a foreign card there is up to $3.16 applied per transaction plus 4.25%. So our Aussie tourist can buy an espresso with their ANZ Visa card, for $5.50, and I am charged $3.16 + 4.25%.
The maximum surcharge a retailer can apply at the EftPos machine is 2.5%. I have added a $2.50 transacting fee for foreign cards. It is either that or flatly refusing foreign cards.

CANELÉ - 1st introduced at Feoh four years ago. They were exquisite but very challenging to make. Since then we have found a way that allows us to make these delicacies a little more efficiently so we tried again this weekend. We created a citrus Cointreau Canelé that is outstanding . They are costly to make because they take an hour to bake and several days to prepare. This is why canelés are not often found in New Zealand cafes, but this type of food suits our small specialty offering. Costly, yes but they are exclusive and delightful and available Sundays only.
