We are on the hunt for a passionate chef at The Paddle & Pint located on the scenic lakefront! You will be an integral part of the kitchen team working alongside our Head Chef, as you learn and develop your skills. You must have a passion for great food and service and also have the drive to succeed in the hospitality sector. The position will be available toward the end of June.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare food for cooking as directed by the Chef in charge
• Keep all work areas, chiller, storeroom and outside areas clean and tidy
• Follow proper portion control and presentation techniques to meet customer expectations
• Operate cooking equipment such as grills, fryers, microwaves and blenders
• Receive and sort supplies and deliveries
• Follow proper hygienic food handling practices
• Support good communication within the kitchen and FOH staff
The successful applicant will have the following attributes/ skills:
• Ability to understand food preparation techniques, cooking methods and sanitation practices
• Excellent attitude and work ethic
• Committed to preparation of food to a very high standard
• Have a habit of personal cleanliness
• Willingness to follow directions exactly
• Clear verbal communication skills
• Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and evenings
