The Wānaka Festival of Colour is coming to Hāwea next week with an exciting calendar of shows.

Make a meal of it at our upstairs restaurant, with some top-notch grub and a local tipple before or after the show.

Our talented guest chef has prepared a fantastic autumn menu with something for everyone, and we’ll be pouring local beverages from Rhyme X Reason Brewery Māori Point Vineyard and Maude Wines

Every evening from Sun 30 Mar thru Sat 5 April
Pre-dinner drinks from 4pm til late
Dinner service from 5pm til late
Happy Hour 4-6pm Friday 4 April.

We cannot wait to re-open the doors to our old favourite, and there was no better time than festival week right here in our hometown, so come and help us warm her up after a long hiatus.

To say we’re humbled by this gesture is an understatement Hawea Community Association, Lake Hāwea Men’s Shed, Quartz and Matt … such a beautiful addition to our community space, and one which will be well loved and used by all.

Thank you all for thinking of us here at the store, and for your continued support and generosity of spirit. We really appreciate it, and feel very proud to be part of such a special community 🙏

You may have noticed that the green (beige 😉) space outside the Store & Kitchen received a makeover recently. HCA worked with some fabulous locals to freshen it up and show our appreciation to Hamish and Erica for years of support.

As well as some pruning and mowing, Matt Laming, of Quartz Development & Hotel, supplied the timber, and the Lake Hawea Men's Shed built two new tables for visitors to enjoy their takeaways outdoors.

Summertime has popped in Lake Hāwea!

Dizzy hot afternoons on the lakefront call for a no fuss dinner, and we’re busily making some exciting changes to our much loved takeaway menu.

We’re holding onto the old favourites, and you can expect to see some great new additions very soon. Stay tuned, and as ever - a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us through the changes we have made over the past few months.

Tomorrow we’re taking our new Real Fruit ice cream machine for a pre season lap, and we need some little taste testers to tell us what they think.

Bring the kiddies into the store for a free kiddy scoop of real fruit ice cream between 11:30am-1pm, Sunday 24 Nov … *1x scoop per kiddy… sorry no scoops for daddies dressed as kiddies.
