We are looking forward to giving our team a rest tomorrow for Matariki. We hope you all have a lovely long weekend plans - if you’re wondering what to do with yourselves, might we suggest you treat yourself and simultaneously support the beautiful restaurants and eateries our city has to offer. Tom and I (Juno) are hugely excited to use our day off to make one last trip to the wonderful RITA before they change at the end of the year (you still have time, but we work the same days so this is our last chance!) and on the next few slides you’ll see some inspiration from places we’ve found delight in lately CUTIE PIE PIZZA WORKSHOP Tommy & Alicia and their band of cuties serving the best pies around, April Patisserie our friends Eddy & Jocelyn who have a wonderful patisserie - we love their salt buns! DILLY DALLY Bryn, Jesse and their lovely team made us the most nourishing lunch today.
Take care of your friends & whanau & eat some good food this weekend! X

Atípico Wines have been solid favourites since we met Jordan when he was showing his first vintage & this year is no exception!
We are currently pouring the 2025 Atipico Sundial by the glass; a field blend of Pinot Blanc & Pinot Gris.
Beautifully medium bodied with fleshy nectarine and a savoury finish, it’s what we are reaching for to match with several dishes on the menu right now, spanning vegetable dishes like stracciatella & pickled persimmon to raw trevally with buttermilk & horseradish or even our sole fillets with prawn bisque! It certainly doesn’t need food though, also being a solid favourite staff drink.

Here’s to our lovely Lewis!
Lewis has been with us for two years, you’ll have seen him behind the bar at Margot or Next Door, serving up smiles, great cocktails & a silly story or two!

Lewis has been a source of great anecdotes, a genuine kindness, many laughs & some highly nuanced film takes and recommendations in our team. We have loved having him as part of the wider Margot family - and we know many have loved visiting him at bar Next Door!

Lewis has just over a week left with us, so if you’d like to see him off, come by Next Door before next Saturday. We’re so excited to see where his travels take him & wish him all the best!

For those wondering who might take the helm at Next Door, see the first slide, the lovely fellow to Lewis’ right is Ethan, who is taking on the role of Bar Manager with us. He’s looking forward to meeting you all!

Our lovely Lewis is moving overseas & so we are looking for a somebody to come and take the Next Door wheel in his place.

This is an excellent role for somebody who wants to take their next step behind the bar, as you have the opportunity to run Bar Next Door independently but with support and guidance from Tom & Juno through the hole in the wall at Margot.
Whether you are looking for creative freedom with cocktails, or would simply like to stay in the barwork but enjoy earlier nights (blessings of being in the burbs!) this role could be great for you.
While the role involves sole charge management of Bar Next Door, you’re joining the wider Margot & Next Door team so it is a great balance for somebody who enjoys being part of a team but can work independently.

Next Door is open Wednesday to Saturday, with an extra shift available at Margot on Tuesdays for those who prefer a 5 day work week.
