🇵🇭🌐 UNITED NATIONS DAY 2026 | 81 YEARS OF PEACE, UNITY AND GLOBAL COOPERATION
Today, October 24, we commemorate the 81st anniversary of the United Nations and honor the Philippines’ historic role as one of its founding member nations.
On June 26, 1945, at the United Nations Conference in San Francisco, General Carlos P. Romulo, Chairman of the Philippine Commonwealth Delegation, signed the United Nations Charter, marking a defining moment in our nation’s diplomatic history.
Among the distinguished Filipinos who participated in this historic conference were Manuel P. Manahan, Maximo Kalaw, Carlos P. Garcia, Pedro Lopez, Francisco Delgado, Urbano Zafra, Alejandro Melchor, and Vicente Sinco, each contributing to the Philippines’ presence on the international stage.
Their legacy continues to remind us of the importance of peace, cooperation, mutual understanding, and solidarity among nations.
Here in Region 1, we carry these same values forward through tourism, cultural exchange, and meaningful partnerships that connect our communities with the rest of the world.
Happy United Nations Day! 🇵🇭🌏
