Now on rotation at FIKA Coffeehouse: 𝗣𝗲́𝗿𝗲𝘇 𝗭𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗼́𝗻, a specialty-grade Costa Rican coffee produced by 𝗝𝘂𝗮𝗻 𝗟𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘇 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻 in 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲, 𝗣𝗲́𝗿𝗲𝘇 𝗭𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗼́𝗻, 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗮. 🇨🇷☕️

Juan is a second-generation coffee farmer who began learning about coffee at just 12 years old from his father, also a coffee grower. Over the past 33 years, he has dedicated his life to coffee -- starting as a day laborer and eventually working his way up to become a farm owner and manager.

Grown at elevations of 1,350–1,650 meters above sea level, this lot benefits from cooler temperatures and slower cherry maturation, allowing sugars and flavors to develop more fully before harvest.

This coffee is composed of 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗶 varieties and is processed using the 𝗗𝗿𝘆 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 method, where the cherries are dried with the fruit intact to enhance sweetness, body, and fruit complexity.

Today, Juan continues a family tradition rooted in hard work, patience, and a deep respect for the land -- producing coffees that reflect both the region's terroir and decades of experience.
