Open Everyday from 11:00am-8:00pm. La Veggie PH is a food business owned and operated by the Vegetarian-since-birth Araneta Siblings. Their Parents, the late Chef Lalita and Sir Radhasyam Araneta are the original owners who have been lacto-vegetarians for over 45 years, back when they were in their teens -- way back in the days when vegetarianism and veganism isn't a fancy trend and were even considered as quite an orthodox type of diet. This partner was unyielding in what they believe and respectfully did not succumb to the skepticism of the mass. This loving pair of parents raised their children to be vegetarian since birth as well (Chef jai, Chef rads, Chef Ajita, Chef Gopi, Siddha, Mira and Chai). They had a mission to help as many people as possible by sharing this lifestyle - vegetarianism and veganism by means of Chef Lalita's VIP(vegetarian in progress) menu creations, with which she strived to make plant-based food taste as good as or even better than food with animal products and Sir Radhasyam's speaking engagements where he would facilitate seminars about the benefits of being a vegetarian in colleges, government offices, private establishments, companies, private events, and the like. All these efforts with the help of their children. They moved to Cebu City with great courage in 1993 to share their expertise and serve Cebuanos, visitors, and everyone with healthy meals. The late Chef Lalita is the face of La Veggie PH. Imagine having to feed 7 children in a city that is known to be the "lechon capital of the philippines". It was challenging but she was so passionate about perfecting her craft that she never stopped creating and making it easier for her children and everyone she would feed around the city, the philippines - even overseas(when she worked as a professional personal chef for a royal family) to enjoy the food she prepared. And she would always have fun making new exciting recipes too! The classic recipes(like but not limited to: caldereta, BEANuguan, Shawarma, Burritos, Eggless Mayonnaise, Macaroni Salad, etc) you are now able to taste and enjoy is passed down from a warm hearted, bubbly mother of 7 vegetarian-since-birth children, grandmother of more than 8 grand kids and friend & momshie figure to too many to mention. She loved giving food to students and these former students, now professionals mostly with families of their own still remember her kindness. She was special. She practiced the yoga lifestyle and this is why she was spreading the value of vegetarianism to as many people as she could. Now the operation behind La Veggie PH is none other than her legacy, her children who she taught from 6-7yrs old. (Chef Jai, Chef Rads, Chef Ajita, Chef Gopi, Mira and Chai.)
