Hi, I’m Sumana. It’s been a while since I introduced myself to the new faces here, so I wanted to share a bit of the story behind AweSum Cakes.
Years ago, I was working as an IT professional. But whenever I saw a beautifully personalized, neatly made custom cake, I’d completely lose myself in the details. I used to dream about making things like that one day.
That dream became real out of necessity. For my son’s first birthday, I wanted to make him a custom-designed cake. Because he was allergic to eggs and milk protein at the time, it took weeks of trials, recipe tweaking, and obsessive research to get it right.
When that first cake turned out to be a success, my hobby quickly turned into a passion. I spent countless hours learning cake decorating, perfecting fillings, and mastering the science of baking. Soon, friends started asking for cakes, my confidence grew, and I decided to take the leap into making this my full-time profession.
It’s been over a decade now, and I still get the absolute best feeling when I see your reviews or the looks on your faces when you pick up your orders.
Today, you can find me at my little cake shop at Haga Kyrkogata 22 here in Göteborg! Whether you’re stopping by for a cupcake or sitting down with me to design a custom cake for your next big celebration, I’m always happy to help make your moments a bit sweeter. (And yes, making incredible eggless and gluten-free treats that taste just as amazing is still incredibly close to my heart!).
