A few months ago, we had the honour of hosting the production team from 厦门卫视 for a special feature on Loy Kee and our multi-generation family story. The crew spent two full days with us, capturing each moment with care and passion. Under the guidance of Director Ling Wen, they worked tirelessly to tell our story in the most authentic and beautiful way.

Their film was completed and aired yesterday on 厦门卫视, 5 October 2025, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

We are deeply thankful to every member of the team. From the camera crew to the producers. For their dedication, professionalism, and respect for our heritage. Watching them work so hard behind the scenes made us even more excited and appreciative of the final film they created.

Thank you for shining a light on Loy Kee’s legacy and for helping us preserve the story of our family business through the generations. ❤️

We are honoured to welcome Margaret Chan for dinner at Loy Kee Best Chicken Rice!

For those unfamiliar, Margaret Chan is a legendary figure in Singapore’s food scene. She’s a renowned food writer, journalist, stage actress, and currently an associate professor at SMU.

Back in the 1980s and 1990s, her glowing reviews of our chicken rice, published in The Straits Times and other journals, helped put us on the map and shaped our story as one of Singapore’s heritage food places.

We’re grateful for her continued support, and sharing these photos and old newspaper clippings brings back meaningful memories of our journey together. ❤️

Fun fact: Our name, “Loy Kee BEST Chicken Rice,” was given to us by Margaret Chan herself. We’ve proudly used it ever since! It’s another part of our heritage we cherish!
