Chai Wee Foodstuffs Manufactory

Founded in 1978, Chai Wee Foodstuffs Manufactory is a third-generation family business in Chinatown, Singapore.

Specialising in hand-crafted grilled squid slices and “ear biscuits,” the Tan family continues to uphold traditional techniques, ensuring every piece reflects care and authenticity.

Third-generation owner Tan Minghan, who joined the family business in 2014, combines modern tools with artisanal skills, using programmable ovens while keeping hand-shaping at the core. With orders mainly fulfilled in-store, Chai Wee fosters direct connections with customers, building lasting loyalty.

By joining SHESA 2025, Chai Wee celebrates Singapore’s hawker heritage, craftsmanship, and community spirit.
