Lanna Cafe Chiang Mai

We sell high quality Thai highland coffee in our shop and to local businesses.

Lanna café is a non-governmental organization (NGO), initiated in 2001 by Wakachiai Project, NGO which has been importing coffee (in accordance with the fair trade standards) from Hilltribe growers in Northern Thailand (Lanna) since 1997. Our objective is to introduce high quality Thai Highland coffee to more people, not only in Thailand, but worldwide, and to assist the coffee producers of t

he Thai Hill tribes who do not have direct access to the market. All of our coffee is purchased directly from the growers group (Thai Tribal Highland Arabica Coffee Production and Marketing Cooperative), and certified by FLO (Fairtrade Labeling Organizations International).

On February 23, 2025, our Lifelong Learning participants explored the journey of coffee from cherry to cup at Lanna Coffee. From pulping and drying at the Mae Jo warehouse to the roastery and café in San Phi Suea, we gained a deeper appreciation for the care behind every cup.

Learning about the organization’s roots in supporting highland communities made the experience even more meaningful. ☕🌿

Our long-standing partnership reflects a shared commitment to sourcing high-quality coffee directly from ITDF Coffee member farmers—supporting the livelihoods, development, and dignity of Thailand’s hill tribe communities.
