Still reflecting on an incredible experience at the 2026 YLAI Regional Alumni Event in Belize π§πΏ.
Over the past few days, I had the privilege of being selected and connecting with fellow YLAI Alumni from across the Caribbean, engaging with U.S. business partners, sharing our entrepreneurial journeys, and exploring opportunities to strengthen partnerships that drive economic growth throughout the region.
As a proud representative of Trinidad & Tobago, moments like these remind me how important it is to show up, share our stories, and highlight the innovation, resilience, talent, and creativity that exist within our islands. A special highlight was the opportunity to share a piece of Tobagoβs rich cultural heritage through the depiction of the Moriah Ole Time Wedding during Cultural Exchange Night. It was an honour to celebrate and showcase a tradition that reflects the beauty and uniqueness of our island.
Whether through entrepreneurship, cultural exchange, or community leadership, I remain committed to ensuring that Tobagoβs story, culture, talent, and potential are represented on the global stage.
One of my most meaningful parts of the event was reconnecting with Alec Wells of Sarkozy Bakery, my 2024 YLAI Professional Fellowship Organization host. Since my fellowship experience in Michigan, we have continued to stay connected, but it was especially rewarding to catch up in person, reflect on how far we've both come, and celebrate the lasting relationships that the YLAI program creates.
I return home with meaningful connections, fresh ideas, practical business insights, and renewed motivation to continue growing Slice Twice while contributing to the development of my community and local economy.
Thank you to YLAI, the organizers, fellow alumni, and our U.S. partners for creating a space where leaders can learn, collaborate, and grow together. The journey continues, and I am excited for what lies ahead.
