Have you ever eaten a Blue Oyster Mushroom?

The snow may be falling outside, but we are inside dialing in our mushroom production! Our batch of Blue Oysters are coming in, not only beautiful, but also delicious. With a silky yet meaty texture, these cold weather mushrooms are perfect as substitutes for meat, or all on their own, grilled or sautéed!

What types of mushrooms have you wanted to try? Any requests you’d like us to grow for you?

We still have a few spots left for our weekly veggie box CSA going June- November, where members will have access to our gourmet mushrooms!

Mushrooms are incredible aren’t they!?This growth is only slightly less than three days old. It is incredible to watch how fast the mycelium are colonizing the substrate. This is our newest test batch of mushrooms! They are Blue Oyster mushrooms and should be ready for the fruiting room in about 20 more days.

We can’t wait to get feedback from everyone once they are ready! If you’re interested in getting on the list, go to our website to sign up! Link in profile

Some days, this is what being a farmer looks like. A family coming together to help move a refrigerator from one site to another.

We mean it when we say we are a family farm. Family is, after all, what made us want to be farmers in the first place.

We want to give you, your family ( and ours too) access to exceptionally nutritious and delicious food.

That’s why we are offering 26 weeks of intensely grown vegetables so you can feed your family the very best without worries about where your food is coming from

It’s an honor to feed you. Thank you to those who have already signed up, and welcome to those who would like to be apart of the family

What a day!
We were finally able to get some silage tarp onto our fields in order to prepare them for spring!

After a couple rounds of mowing the grass down, we laid two 50ft x 50ft pieces of silage tarp, which will hang out for a couple of months, slowly killing off the grass and help the residues underneath breakdown faster.

These tarps replace the tillage step allowing us to maintain soil structure and integrity, all while keeping the soil ecosystem intact 🌱

We’ll add two more 50ft x 50ft pieces in the coming days and then rotate them around until we have all of our blocks established!

Each block will consist of twelve 30 inch by 50 foot long beds with 15 inch walkways, with each block separated by a mixed bed of annual and perennial pollinator species.🐝🌻

We're looking forward to getting the rest of the field cleared in the coming days, and to get our veggies growing for our 2021 season!

It’s not too late to sign up for 26 weeks of delicious veggies, with pick up !

The hoop house is coming along so nicely !

We’re excited to be able to utilize some of this space, because it means we can start growing sooner, keeping our veggie starts nice and toasty before they go into the ground this spring.

Hoop house for us means tasty veggies sooner for you! 🥦🥕🥬🍅

Hello Friends! At IndieRoo Farm, we believe in growing the absolute best food possible. Food so delicious and nutritious that it could be considered a “medicine”. We go beyond organic principles, by practicing regenerative farming techniques, such as cover cropping, minimal to zero tillage and focusing primarily on soil health. These techniques allow us to grow produce that are not only some of the most delicious and resilient vegetables you will ever have, but also ones that are disease and pest resistant, which means we don’t need to use chemical insecticides, fungicides or even fertilizers. This is 100% pure unadulterated food, grown in living soils.
