Obituary for Shirley Latson

Shirley (Meemaw) Latson, 81, of Abilene, Texas went to her heavenly home on July 26, 2019 with her loving family by her side.
Shirley was born May 17, 1938 in Abilene, Texas to Corrie Jefferies Williams and John T Williams. Shirley was a lifetime resident of Abilene Texas and was a Baptist.
Shirley worked as a waitress at the Queen’s Diner in the 1960’s in downtown Abilene. She was also in law-enforcement as a deputy sheriff in both Taylor and Nolan counties. Shirley’s last place of employment was at Catfish Corner as a waitress for 22 years. Shirley’s hobbies included casinos, game rooms, and scratch off tickets.
Shirley was preceded in death by both of her parents, two brothers,Pascal and Jimmy Williams and a nephew, Robert Williams.
Survivors include a son, James L Justice, a daughter Jeanell Owens(Ciriaco) both of Abilene, Texas. Grandchildren include, Mandi, Delia(Sergio), Cynthia, Jaime( Kolena), Blake and Tucker. Great-grandchildren include, Angel, Cyan, Khristian Gabriel, Sienna, Jacob, Joseph and Jayton. Nieces and nephews include Jamie, Kimberly, Cindy, and Deborah. A very special sister-in-law Mary Williams and cousins, Capitola and Ann.
The family would like to thank all the employees of Willow Spring nursing home, especially Debbie. Also thanks to Hendricks hospice employees Candi, Kim and Robert.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Monday, July 29, from 5-7pm at 3657 Yale Ave. in Abilene, TX.
