Weekend specials are always stellar at the Taphouse — and this weekend we are beyond proud of what's coming out of our kitchen.
Beer-Braised Bison Short Ribs.
Slow-braised low and slow in craft beer until the meat is fall-off-the-bone ridiculous. Plated on a swirl of velvety pommes purée — rich, smooth, and buttery — and finished with heirloom carrots in a brown sugar glaze sweet enough to make you reconsider everything you thought you knew about a side dish.
And yes, it looks just as good as that photo. 👆

We heard you, Abilene!! One of our most requested items has returned to the menu starting this Friday, April 3rd!

Corned beef, Swiss, sauerkraut, Thousand Island, toasted rye. Made from scratch, just like everything else we do. If you've been waiting on it, your wait is officially over.

This first day of spring brings an early dose of Texas heat, with temperatures feeling more like May than March. Speaking of Texas heat, this weekend the Taphouse welcomes the return of a much-requested fan favorite: the Outlaw Burger! To manifest this meaty monstrosity, our already-amazing TCT burger gets the royal treatment with the addition of pulled pork, barbecue sauce, cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, fresh jalapeños, and fried onion strings, dressed with our smoky campfire mayo and served up on a toasted brioche bun. If there was a way to squeeze more flavor between two buns, we haven't seen it. The Outlaw Burger will be available at the Taphouse all weekend long--come squeeze this carnivore-worthy creation into your weekend's recreation!

St Patrick's Day is TUESDAY, and the Taphouse has you covered for all of your Irish necessities! Bangers and mash, corned beef and cabbage, green beers, perfectly-poured pints of Guinness, and a new addition this year: the Irish Dare! If you can't make up your mind between all of our amazing Irish offerings, the Irish Dare offers up both corned beef and bangers on one plate, along with cabbage, mashed potatoes, and a savory Guinness onion gravy to tie the whole picture together. While it might sound like a lot, and might not be the most elegant plate on the block, the culinary cacophony comes together in the most daring and delicious of ways, hence the "Irish Dare". Try something new, or stick with old favorites--either way, make your way to TCT this Tuesday (3/17) to observe St Patrick's Day in style! Sláinte, Abilene!

The Taphouse will open at 5pm this Wednesday, 3/4, to allow our staff time to attend the funeral of a dear member of our TCT family. Terry Torregrossa was a local legend and friend to all, and if you ever met him, you would never forget his smile, contagious positivity, and never-ending love for music and family. His memorial will be held at the Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5750 Hwy 277 South, this Wednesday at 1pm. A GoFundMe has been set up to help cover family expenses, and a benefit show will be held at The Zone next Sunday, 3/8, starting at 6pm. Relevant links are below, and for those attending next Sunday's benefit, you are guaranteed to see and hear the very best of Abilene's music elite lifting their hearts and voices in joyful remembrance. A super seafood special slides into the Taphouse this weekend as we swing the spotlight to stellar swordfish! Pacific-caught and shipped straight to our kitchen, this meaty marvel is butchered in-house, grilled, and served on a bed of mushroom risotto with a piquillo pepper cream sauce and a dollop of cowboy butter. Grilled swordfish is available after 5pm this weekend at the Taphouse, come get a plate of this seafaring stunner before it's gone!

The Sunday Night Supper Club roars back to form this Sunday (2/1) with a much-requested classic: the Monte Cristo sandwich! This sultry stack of ham, Swiss, Dijon mustard, and thick-cut brioche is a deep-fried culinary wonder, dusted with powdered sugar and served with raspberry preserves on the side. Sweet, salty, savory, succulent, sinful, stupendous...superlatives abound for this pub favorite, but it really should be experienced in person.
