Hi! Wedding and special events cake artist here 🙋‍♀️🎂

I’ve already referred my couples to all of my favorite planners, but I’d love to expand my list of truly excellent planners I can recommend with confidence.
I’m not interested in kickbacks or referral incentives - that’s simply not how I operate. What I do care deeply about is knowing that anyone I refer my couples to will prioritize their experience, peace of mind, and joy throughout the process. My couples deserve that, and I take my recommendations seriously.

I have a wonderful couple getting married at the end of October at a private family residence in Sharpsburg, and they’re looking for a fantastic planner. But this is also about building my go-to list for future couples, many of whom come to me via word of mouth or reach out immediately after attending a wedding where I created the cake, often before they’ve chosen a planner.

In hard times, we come together.

Food insecurity is rising across America. I keep thinking about families in our own community who are struggling to put food on their tables. Children who are going to bed at night with their tummies empty.

While this year has been challenging for all small businesses, I know we can still make a big difference together.

Throughout November, 10% of every new cake order (booked for ANY future date) will be donated directly to Feeding America, a nationwide network of food banks, food pantries, and local meal services focused on getting nutritious food to communities in need. 98% of all donations go directly to programs and services that help millions of people facing hunger.

Whether you're planning a 2026 wedding, a holiday celebration, or a birthday for a date in the future, booking this month helps feed families in need.

Additionally, Shannon Turner Cakes will match the first $300 in community donations dollar-for-dollar. That means YOUR $50 becomes $100. Your $25 becomes $50. Every dollar you give = 10 meals for hungry families, children, and seniors, and we're doubling that impact.

This takes less than 5 seconds, costs nothing extra, and can be done from anywhere.

If you’re not sure if those flowers are safe for your clients’ wedding cake, do this on your phone:

Google: “(name of flower) toxic for cake?” (AI will generate an answer immediately at the very top. If it’s not a definite “NO”, assume it is NOT safe and do not use it.)

If you do not know the name of the variety, snap a clear pic and upload it to ChatGPT, asking it to identify it. When you have an ID, cross-reference with Google to be sure and then ask Google whether it is toxic for cakes.

DO NOT TRUST CHATGPT TO TELL YOU WHETHER IT IS TOXIC OR NOT. Use it to find out what the floral species is and then go to Google to confirm a correct ID and whether it is toxic or not.
