For many of us this is already too late.
We couldn’t get renewed or get anyone to sell us a new liquor liability policy.
The insurance policies also skyrocketed and made it impossible for small restaurants. I’m sure you have noticed
the price increases at your local favorites.
So if you want to eat out at an affordable price and support small local business, call or text the number below for reform!
𝗨𝗥𝗚𝗘𝗡𝗧: As SC Senate Majority Leader Shane Massey has said, TODAY is "D-Day" in SC with Big Insurers and Foreign Manufacturers waging battle against Trial Lawyers on the floor of the SC Senate over "tort reform.
Caught in the crossfire are thousands of local businesses, which provide 10% of SC's employment, who are facing an existential crisis due to skyrocketing "liquor liability" insurance costs - restaurants, golf courses, event venues, hotels, performing arts venues, bars, and non-profits (e.g. VFW posts).
The Responsible Hospitality Reform Alliance and the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association have advocated for a common-sense compromise that will help lower liability insurance risks and premiums by:
✅ closing the liquor liability loophole
✅ making warrantless claims defensible
✅ strengthening DUI laws
✅ rewarding responsible alcohol training
✅ lowering insurance requirements on responsible small businesses
TODAY the SC Senate has a chance to do what's right, end the political games, and get a common-sense bill passed. The SC House has already passed a good liquor liability bill. Governor McMaster has said publicly he's ready to sign a liquor liability bill.
