We will not be meeting tomorrow for Akron Breakfast Club due to the fourth of July. Have a happy holiday!

The Front Porch Café will still be open tomorrow if you'd like to buy breakfast or lunch.

Akron Breakfast Club will resume the first Tuesday morning in August. We've got a great line-up of speakers coming for y'all! :)

Thank you to Beth Stropki Knorr, Director of the Summit Food Coalition, for sharing with our group today! The Summit Food Coalition is an alliance of people and organizations committed to building a just, sustainable, and vibrant local food system. They are working hard to increase access to nutritious, local food, while advocating for policy change and creating education and entrepreneurship opportunities for local food champions.

Be sure to check out their upcoming event, Savor the Summit Local Food Hero Celebration & Fundraiser, taking place Thursday, October 11th, at The Trailhead At Cascade Lofts. They will be recognizing a very well-deserving local food hero, Julie Costell from Ms. Julie's Kitchen!

We'll miss you, Eric! Thank you for your dedication to The Front Porch Cafe' over the past 7 years and best of luck with your new endeavor!

Seven years ago, Eric Harmon stepped on staff as the Project Manager of The Front Porch building project. It was some years later that a dream was born in his heart to one day become a Prison Chaplain.

Seven years later, The Front Porch building project has received its Certificate of Occupancy, and Eric has received a job offer to be a Prison Chaplain at Mansfield Correctional Institution.

This Friday is Eric's last day with us at South Street Ministries as he steps into this calling that God has been cultivating in his heart, mind, spirit, and person. Though we will miss our brother, we also are overjoyed at this new season he is stepping into, having watched this calling unfold over the years.

You're invited to stop by the Café this Friday after 10am to send Eric off in commissioning!

We're so very sad to hear of Thomas Jones' recent passing. Thomas was such a wonderful supporter of our group and he always went above and beyond to make sure our meetings ran smoothly. He will be missed by so many people who visited the The Front Porch Cafe', whom he always greeted with a warm smile. Please keep his friends and family in your thoughts, especially his wife, Toni, and his Front Porch family.
