Stealing some verbiage from another course because it bests explains what you might see on the course!
We are in the dog days of summer heat and will be taking some extra steps to ensure the course stays looking and playing great!
What to expect on the course:
💦 Daytime Sprinklers: Sprinklers will run periodically for brief moments ("syringing") to cool the turf canopy.
⛳️ Greens Wilting: Even with syringing, you will see some localized wilting on the greens during peak afternoon heat.
🍂 Browning (Greens, Tees, Fairways): You will notice yellow/brown patches across greens, tees and fairways. This is Poa annua (annual bluegrass), and other weeds, which have low heat tolerance and naturally decline in these extreme temperatures.
Thank you to all who continue to use course etiquette to protect and preserve what my team works hard to achieve, we appreciate it!
