The ABQ the Mag Best of the City categories have been reformatted in a way that I probably won’t take home a prize for my fridge this year 😩 instead of “Best Cakes” and “Best Cupcakes”, it’s been reworded to “Best Cake Shop”.
😩😩😩
I GUESS the voting was indeed a really long process but imo it should have been more of a local focus as opposed to national chains. It’s a bummer that I’ve been working hard to make it as a scrappy lil catering/caking business and this title helps me go against national chains like Smallcakes Cupcakery because I don’t yet have a walk-in “shop” so to speak, so Howdy Cakes isn’t going to come up in people’s minds as a “Best Cake Shop”.

Anyways that’s why I haven’t really been campaigning super hard for the title, it’s such an uphill battle to be a small business and I have tons of personal life stresses that require so much steam to power through. I’m tired, bros! And it’s okay as long as YOU know that everything that I make for you is jam-packed full of love and good intentions and the most intense wishes that you have a great day and honor yourself and those around you 💕💕💕✨✨✨ thank you so much for supporting Howdy Cakes as I try to navigate this new move to La Carinderia at the NHCC and its millions of delays while my car decides it needs thousands of dollars of repairs all at once with money I don’t have 💕💕💕✨✨✨🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 amen 🧁🐑

Song selection bc Memorial Day and my Coast Guard Captain Grampa spends his days up at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe with my great uncle who was a Code Talker during the Korean War and he loved Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass and I miss him a whole bunch 💕
We doing this again tomorrow because I forgot to post to the ABQ Native fb group today lololololol 😆😆😆 it’s been a very long weekend the past four days of nonstop caking, so I’m going to just sit in this chair for a minute because I’ve been on my feet in go-mode since Wednesday and then start to pack up to go home to the cat daddy and the cat daddies and rent a horror movie in my grampas honor 🧙‍♂️🐈🐈‍⬛
