Little Anita's

Little Anita's For a taste of grandma’s cooking and a bit of home made comfort, come to Little Anita’s, which h Our chile tastes like chile. We know breakfast.

Named after the founder’s mother, and based on family recipes handed down for generations, Little Anita’s is an Albuquerque institution. Our iconic flagship restaurant, in the heart of Old Town, is beloved by locals and a must-visit for any tourist. You haven’t been to Albuquerque if you haven’t eaten at Little Anita’s. Our menu hasn’t changed much in the last four decades, and we’re proud of it.

In a fast-moving world, our restaurants are an oasis of tradition and sentimental cooking. When it comes to our signature dishes, we like to keep things simple. We believe in the purity of our ingredients and keep a clean flavor profile. You won’t find your food overloaded with seasoning and your taste buds won’t be overwhelmed with spiciness. You know a Mexican restaurant by its chips and salsa. Have a seat, take a few bites and find out why so many regulars say, “you had me at chips and salsa.” Yes, it’s that good. We prepare and serve all the classics: tacos, carnitas, tostadas, enchiladas, Spanish rice, carne adovada, chimichanga, enchiladas, chile rellenos, asada, taquitos and a lot more. Come dine with us and experience New Mexico in every bite. If you live in Albuquerque, Little Anita’s is the place you go for holidays and celebrations. If it’s Easter or Mother’s Day, it’s breakfast at Little Anita’s. Sundays would not be Sundays without huevos rancheros, and after a long night of festivities nothing hits the spot quite like our posole or green chile stew. When you eat at Little Anita’s, you’re coming home. We didn’t invent breakfast, but we were the first in town to serve breakfast burritos back in the 1970s. Our burritos are huge and phenomenally tasty, and still as sought after as the day we started making them. In a hurry, try our carryout which is always hot and always fast. With nine locations in Albuquerque, you’re never more than fifteen minutes away from great New Mexican cuisine. We pride ourselves on our consistent quality. When you call us for carryout, you’re getting flavor you can trust.

There is no feeling quite like that first crack of the golden-brown crust on a Chile Relleno. We take the finest chiles, stuff them full of melty cheese, dip them in our signature batter, and fry them until they reach crispy perfection.

Served up alongside our savory Spanish rice and creamy refried beans, it’s the classic New Mexico trifecta. The crunch is real and the cheese is waiting! Come grab a seat at our table. Because sometimes, the best things in life are deep fried.

Enjoy the flavors of New Mexico:

The spiciness of chile is hard to get just right. The chile should be one of many flavors you taste in every bite. It's certainly one of the most important flavors.

But you can't have it overpower all the others. If you're eating a chimichanga, it should taste like a chimichanga.

You know that feeling. The plates have just hit the table, the steam is rising, and the smell of earthy red chile fills the air. You’ve got your fork poised and ready to dive into those cheesy enchiladas and creamy refried beans.

But first, you take it all in: the stack of warm tortillas waiting to be rolled, and those pillowy, golden sopaipillas just sitting there, ready for a drizzle of honey. It’s the perfect New Mexico standoff. Where do you even start?

The wait is finally over. Go ahead, take that first bite. We’ll see you when you come up for air!

Your table is set and the chile is hot. Come experience the best part of the day:

The best things in life are simple.

Blue skies over the Sandias, the sound of a crackling fire, your favorite pair of old boots, a warm hello from a dear friend. And of course... a fresh basket of chips and salsa.

It’s the ultimate New Mexico greeting. Our chips are served thick and crunchy, and our salsa has just the right amount of kick to wake up your taste buds. It’s the first thing on the table and the last thing you're reaching for—because no matter how many times you’ve had it, that first dip is always just as good as the last.

The chips are warm and the salsa is waiting:
