We want to address the recent post regarding Taps & Apps.
First, we want to sincerely apologize to the organizers and attendees for us not being able to fulfill the donation as planned. We understand the frustration and disappointment this caused, and we take responsibility for the breakdown in coordination on our end.
The truth is, this situation came down to me overextending myself and taking on more events and commitments than I realistically can handle. I will make a commitment to slow down and be more mindful with managing our events and daily operations schedule.
We do want to respectfully address and clarify one part of the story. We did not simply respond with a “flat no” when asked if the food could be picked up. During communication with the organizer, we were actively trying to pivot and figure out a solution after realizing we would not be able to physically make it to the event. Before we were able to devise a new plan, another vendor had already stepped in to help cover the event. Thank you to the vendor who stepped up in our absence.
Taps & Apps is an amazing event and organization. We have proudly participated the past two years, and we truly appreciate everything they do for the community and for cancer support efforts.
At B Street Gumbo, community matters to us deeply, and anyone who has worked with us over the years knows we genuinely do our best to show up and support local events whenever we can. We hate that this situation happened and are taking it as a lesson to improve communication and coordination moving forward.
We appreciate everyone who continues to support us and allows us the opportunity to continue to be a part of this community.
For all Taps & Apps attendees, we are offering free 5pc chicken wings, flavor of your choice. Show your ticket to accept this offer.
For Taps & Apps, in lieu of our appetizer contribution, we will be making a monetary donation to American Cancer Society.
