When the pandemic hit and small businesses were asked to pivot to an online model, many Alaskan businesses were left behind in the digital divide. In May of this year, ACLT launched a new program called Anchorage Online Bootcamp to support Anchorage businesses in building their digital literacy and online presence. Though the past year has been a time of tumult for the small business community, there are many entrepreneurs who have been working hard behind the scenes to rebuild, pivot, and grow. To celebrate this cohort, we'll be profiling some of its graduates in the coming weeks.
Meet Edgar Duero of Chowder Express. Edgar began the Bootcamp in the midst of establishing a brand new location in Mountain View for his chowder and BBQ business, Chowder Express. Though he already had a strong logo and branding for his business, he had not yet built an online presence or messaging to draw customers in. Through Anchorage Online Bootcamp, Edgar developed his brand new website, menu, and messaging that will prepare him for his upcoming launch to the Mountain View community. Better yet, that launch has come- Chowder Express is opening its doors for service THIS Thursday, Oct. 14th! You may have met Edgar at our Grow North Farm Closing Day Celebration passing out samples of his signature chowder. If you didn't sample it, you'll have to do so as soon as possible. Give them a like and stay up to date on their weekly schedule, and when you can get your next fresh bowl of chowder or plate of mouth-watering BBQ.
Cheers to our first-ever graduating cohort of the program, and their incredible progress and growth. You can read more about the full cohort here: https://bit.ly/anchorageonline1 🎉🎉🎉
