Hello my name is Roscoe Wyche lll, it is a great honor and pleasure to, accept this prestigious award. Community service was instilled in me early in life as my dad served in the U.S.Air Force for 26yrs and also retired as an Alaska Corrections Officer and my mom with the biggest heart of gold helped any person in need that she could. We also Shared our parents with each community we lived in as he became known as "Daddy Roscoe" and she became "Mama Carol,"they even became Foster Parents and were a true inspiration for me.My community service started in Boy Scouts and continued with Foster Parenting, walks with the March of Dimes & the Alaska Heart Association walk & Run, I walked thank you very much. I was on the board for Selective Service for 20yrs and I am a Past President of Anchorage Elks lodge and I am also the current Commander of the Sons of the American Legion Chappie James post 34. Becoming a member in these organizations bring a definite feeling of joy and satisfaction. That joy is exemplified as Roscoe's, our restaurant started a tradition giving free dinners for needy people. We now feed 150 to 300 people during the Thanksgiving holidays.This tradition carries on as my sister, Rosalyn who now owns the restaurant with the new name honoring my mother Mama Carol's Soulfood Events and Catering,located at 341 Boniface Pkwy Please support her as you have me. It has been a wonderful pleasure to be a part of the Anchorage Community Thank you,Thank you, and Thank you. Have a wonderful evening.

It is with great sadness and joy that I announce the transition of Roscoe's Food For The Soul located at 341 Boniface Pkwy in Anchorage Alaska will no longer be in operation as we welcome-- Mama Carol's Soulfood Events and Catering owned and operated by my sister Rosalyn Wyche a beautiful and successful business woman in her own right.I ask you to support her to the fullest extent as you will receive great Southern Food along with great Southern Hospitality.Thank you All for your support through the years as Roscoe's has enjoyed serving the Anchorage community.
