Blue LLama is Ann Arbor's premiere Jazz Club and Restaurant, proudly serving our community since 2019. The award winning chef, restaurateur and cookbook author JJ Johnson joined our team as Creative Culinary Director, overseeing the culinary relaunch and future of the restaurant. His new menu brings the spirit and flavors of American jazz meccas like Harlem and New Orleans, along with flavors from Barbados and Puerto Rico through an Afro Caribbean menu, a style of cooking that Chef JJ has become known for.

A short but sweet week at Blue LLama before we take a brief holiday break. Arnold/Jassi/Kramer: World Transcendence opens things Wednesday, July 1st, followed by Nicole Heitger on Thursday, July 2nd for two wonderful nights of live jazz to kick off the holiday weekend.

We'll be closed July 3rd through 5th, and when we return on July 8th, we come back in a big way with a very special one-set performance from jazz legends Kahil El'Zabar and David Murray.

Vibraphonist Chuck Redd opens the week Wednesday the 24th, followed by the Michael Malis Quartet on Thursday, and a very special Friday featuring a Happy Hour set from the University of Michigan Jazz Ambassadors at 5pm followed by the Marion Hayden Legacy Ensemble at 7pm and 9pm. The Olivia Van Goor Quartet closes out the weekend Saturday, with the Erena Terakubo Quartet wrapping up an incredible month of live jazz Sunday evening.
