One day, not so long ago, I woke up and realized - I'm older. So I decided to take the leap. I have been sharing my baked goods with friends and family all around town for the past 25 years so a lo

t of you know that baking is my favorite thing to do - it is my form of therapy! Nothing fancy, no beautifully decorated cakes or cupcakes, or fancy tarts. What I do have is old fashioned delicious goodness with real sugar, real butter, fresh fruit and other good things mixed together to hopefully make you want to come back for more. My menu will vary as I get bored making the same thing over and over again but I will post what I'm making the day before on my page so you can be prepared to dream about what you will have for breakfast the next morning. I am also open to suggestions. If you have something you love that makes you happy and it contains sugar I would be happy to try to find a recipe and attempt to make it better then you imagined. I will have top of the line coffee which will be freshly ground in the morning (long before you stop in for your morning brew) and amazing cold brew coffee to pour over ice if you prefer cold over hot. Hot tea will also be available. Thank you for your support of my dream. I can't wait to see what the future holds.

I am a Facebook Meal Recipe Saver. I save them - never to be looked at again. BUT, not tonight BAYBEE!!! I am a big fan of breakfast for dinner and I found a simple and quick recipe for French Toast Tortillas that sounded so yummy. Tonight I gathered the ingredients, did a little mixing, stirring, and dipping the tortilla a few times in the egg mixture, then putting the tortilla onto the warm skillet. I grilled both sides, put it on a plate, smeared one side with vanilla yogurt & jelly then rolled it up and took a bite - OH MY GOSH! These simple little rolled up tubes were soooo good. I also tried dipping and grilling the tortilla then drizzled it with maple syrup, like a crepe - DELISH
Here’s the recipe in case you want to try it - I bought a pack of the low carb smaller tortillas but you can use any. Whisk together 3 eggs, 2T Maple Syrup (I may have used a bit more because it’s Maple Syrup!), 2T of Heavy Cream (I used whole milk), and a sprinkle of Cinnamon. Melt some butter on a warm a skillet and grill your tortilla on both sides. Put on a plate and drizzle with syrup or top with yogurt (I used Greek vanilla) and some jam, roll up and enjoy!
I’m still sitting here smiling and I gobbled these up over an hour ago (food makes me happy like that!)

Have you ever gone to a place you go to quite often and for some reason this time - it looks different, but the same. You slow down for a moment and for some reason, this time, you realize this place is an oasis of beauty and calmness. Maybe it’s my age and the realization that time seems to be picking up the pace. Maybe the world around me is slowing down in the hopes I hear it whispering, look around, don’t miss what is right here.
So tonight I heard it, the whisper. I was feeding and watering horses, shoveling, scooping, dumping and chatting with my friend, Amy Jo Peters, at her farm. A place she has graciously shared with me for years but tonight was different, tonight I realized this place, this peaceful place, was so stunningly beautiful it took my breath away. Tonight I was reminded of the perks of slowing down as I get older - I’m finding beauty in places I’ve forgotten to look.

So on our getaway to the Lake this week a crazy thing happened at Living Roots Wine & Co. on Keuka Lake - one of our favorite wineries. I had a box of Gnome Nuggets with our Bakery Label on top in case we meet fun people and we want to share.
While we are doing a tasting there was a group of four people next to us. One of the women says, “Are you from Annville?” What? Yes, we are! She continues to tell us that a family member goes to the Whirling Dervish Bakery and loves it there. So we shared our PB Balls with them and some others there for tastings and our wonderful tasting hostess, Kansas!! What a small world!
Back at the Lake House Rhonnda Beuchat Bentz gathered Lake glass every day, a few times a day actually. I collected driftwood and created a little driftwood village. We read. We had some fantastic wines. We met some wonderful people. We visited with friends we’ve made in the past. We took walks. Rhonnda enjoyed petting every dog she met. We watched movies. We laid in the sun in the grass on our rafts. We laughed - A LOT!
I had my moments of my memories of Tom and I at our favorite place - the lake! I felt like I was home. ❤️
It was a fantastic and much needed getaway!

It’s midnight - the start of a new day. Happy 13th Anniversary my TP! How I wish you were here! Life is so different without you with me. The quiet is deafening. You are a constant in my every day. They say life goes on but I’m not sure I agree. Mine feels as though part of me moves forward each day and part of me is lost, searching for you. It’s quite the conundrum. I am so lucky to have each and every memory we made - THANK YOU! Until we meet again TP, I will forever dance with you in my dreams. I love you ❤️

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD! You would have turned 97 today. It’s hard to believe you and mom have been gone for 7 years. You absolutely LOVED Birthdays. Not just yours, everyone’s!! This morning Heather Kelley summed up who you were in 3 words - YOU WERE LOVE! You loved your family, people, community, and life -and shared your love with everyone. Always upbeat, positive, and happy. We are so thankful to have had you in our lives!! Hope you’re celebrating with Mom, Jeff, and Tom and maybe enjoying a parade too!
