I've been dwelling on it and even though we only close for Christian holidays normally, 250 years of America will only come once in a lifetime for this old Navy veteran. Therefore, I have decided we will be closed next Saturday on the glorious Fourth 4th of July. So, come get your Catfish fix on Friday. Saturday, I will put the flag out, but the door will be locked. I plan to be on my back porch grilling and drinking Shiner Bach! Enjoy your patriotism & freedom!

One of my employees ask how to know if a person actually served in the military? I am prior Navy and I have a veteran endorsement on my TXDL and a photo VA card. I know you must have a DD214 for either one. Retired and Active also have photo ID. Hats and tattoos are not proof of any service. Youtube is loaded with videos of "False Valor" to get a free meal or discount. So here, you need to show photo ID unless you come here so often that the waitress knows you and has verified you several times over. Or your picture is on the "Honor Wall" in the back.

I'm sorry folks, I've held off as long as I can. I haven't raised prices in five years but the rising cost of supplies and overhead has forced my hand. However, we are adding a 10% Senior discount for 65 and older. New Menu Prices attached. Thank you.

I didn't think that I would have to say this. When we have "all you can eat catfish", it is one plate per customer, regardless of age. I do not think there is an "All you can eat" special in Abilene that allows multiple plates. Giving away free food, means employees don't get paid, and the restaurant ceases to be in business. I am sorry if this seems too harsh. As one of my good friends once said, "It's not a soup kitchen." If you are down and out, I might meet you out back with a couple grill cheese and cup of ice water. That's about it. Thank you.
