The Roots Have Grown Enough

I have spent a long time waiting for Naugh-Tea Nook to look established enough before I allowed myself to fully share it. Established enough. Polished enough. Big enough. Certain enough.

But roots do not wait for anyone to approve of them before they grow. They stretch through the dark. They search. They anchor themselves around stones and through difficult soil. Most of their work happens where no one can see it.

And then, one day, something emerges.

Naugh-Tea Nook is still a little sprout. I know that. It is still tender, changing, learning what it needs, and growing into what it will become. However, its roots have grown enough that it is ready to emerge.

So am I.

I have officially opened access to the Naugh-Tea Nook Patreon. It is a place where I can share more of the work that has been growing quietly beneath everything else: moon pages, tarot, rituals, hearth practices, journal prompts, workshops, reflection, tea, creativity, and the strange, beautiful process of becoming more of yourself.

I appreciate every person who chooses to support these new roots while they settle deeper into the soil.

Along with opening the Patreon, over the past several months, I found myself within a group of people that eventually collapsed. I could describe everything that happened. I could explain myself. I could defend the choices I made or carefully outline what belonged to whom.

I do not need to. What fell apart showed me something important. It showed me what my magic feels like. Sometimes a room collapses because it was never built to hold the person you are becoming. That does not necessarily make you wrong. It does not necessarily make the room evil. It does not mean every person standing inside it was terrible.

It simply means the structure could not hold what was growing there.

Not every room is meant to hold you.

Sometimes we remain in spaces that are too small because we remember fitting there once. We crouch. We fold ourselves inward. We lower our voices and tuck away pieces of ourselves so we do not make anyone uncomfortable.

But intuition grows a little like the mushroom in Alice in Wonderland.

One bite, and suddenly you are taller than the room.

Another, and you are so small you barely recognize yourself.

Growth does not always happen evenly. Sometimes you feel enormous. Sometimes you feel invisible. Sometimes the people around you become uncomfortable because they can feel that the version of you they understood is changing.

You may become too much for one room and too little for another.

I am ready to be too much.

I am ready to be too little.

I am ready to stop measuring myself according to the size of rooms I was never meant to remain inside. Instead, I have created a space where I fit. And once I found my own seat, I began placing chairs for other people.

Naugh-Tea Nook is that space.

It is not a place where everyone has to be at the same point in their journey. You do not have to know exactly what you believe. You do not have to be completely healed, perfectly confident, deeply experienced, or certain of where you are going.

You can sit while you are questioning, beginning, rebuilding, celebrating, while you are becoming someone you have never met before. There is a chair here for you.

I have learned that small does not mean imaginary. A sprout is already a plant. A beginning is already happening. A dream does not become real only when everyone else can see it.

Naugh-Tea Nook has grown through book clubs, tea blends, tarot cards, workshops, rituals, journal pages, pop-ups, conversations, mistakes, laughter, exhaustion, and the people who have continued to sit beside me while I figured out what this space was trying to become. It has grown through every person who told me they felt safe here.

Every person who found a book, a cup of tea, a card, a conversation, or a piece of themselves they did not realize they needed. It has also grown through me finally understanding that I do not have to separate my work from my magic, my writing, my hearth, my psychology, my community, or my personal journey.

They are all roots of the same tree.

Along with the Patreon, I am beginning to offer individual worksheets and workshops for those who want to explore specific pieces without joining the full monthly experience.

There will be spaces for reflection, creativity, intuition, tarot, moon work, personal growth, and the practical magic of creating a life that feels more like your own.

Naugh-Tea Nook will also be at a pop-up in Affton this weekend.

I will be bringing the shop out into the world again, including Solar Zest, my bright summer tea made with green tea, jasmine, lemon, ginger, lavender, and mint.

Solar Zest tastes like sunlight finding its way through green leaves. It is refreshing, sharp, soft, floral, and alive—all the things summer manages to be at once. Much like this season of Naugh-Tea Nook.

I am not waiting for everything to be finished before I call it real anymore. I am not waiting until the roots are ancient, the branches are full, and everyone can see the shape of the tree.

The roots have grown enough. The sprout has broken through. There is sunlight here. There are chairs waiting.

And I am finally ready to let you see what has been growing as it continues to grow and learn and share.

✨ Welcome to July at Naugh-Tea Nook ✨

This month, Leo peeks around the corner, Mercury begins walking backward through the halls, the New Moon rises in emotional Cancer, and the Full Moon lands in free-thinking Aquarius.

And the Naugh-Tea Ghouls are reading The Nature of Witches by Rachel Griffin—a story about an Everwitch who is terrified of her own wild, unpredictable power.

Clara’s journey explores what happens when control cannot be found by suppressing your magic, making yourself smaller, or running from the chaos within you. Instead, she must learn to understand her power, trust herself, and work with every changing season of who she is.

Honestly, could July have chosen a more appropriate book for us?

With emotions rising, thoughts swirling, identities shifting, and everyone trying to figure out whether they are growing or simply losing the plot… In other words… A lot is happening.

I hope someone brought popcorn.

There is nothing to prove or rush this month. Simply notice what feels genuine, what brings you peace, and which parts of yourself are asking for more room to breathe.

Let’s steep in that together.

Inside this post, you’ll find:

It’s not too late to join us for this month’s Naugh-Tea Ghouls Book Club!

This month, we’re reading The Nature of Witches by Rachel Griffin—a beautifully atmospheric novel filled with magic, changing seasons, sacrifice, sisterhood, and the question of what we’re willing to give to protect the people and world we love.

When you join, you’ll receive:

Your own copy of the book (it’s yours to keep!)
An exclusive Naugh-Tea Ghouls Book Club Companion packed with:

* Reflection questions
* A themed word search
* Scavenger hunt
* Journal pages
* Discussion prompts
* And more magical extras inspired by the story.

Then, once we’ve all had time to read, we’ll gather together for our Book Club Meeting, where you can join us in person or virtually to chat about the book, share your favorite moments, explore the themes together, and connect with fellow readers who loved the story just as much as you did.

Whether you’re a lifelong fantasy reader or simply looking for a cozy community to enjoy books with, we’d love to have you around the table.

The Full Strawberry Moon in Capricorn is almost here.

The Strawberry Moon is traditionally connected to abundance, gratitude, love, and the sweet rewards that come after hard work. It gets its name from the season when wild strawberries were ready to harvest, which makes this moon feel like a reminder to pause and notice what has finally ripened in your life.

But with this full moon in Capricorn, the energy is not only soft and sweet.

Capricorn brings the reality check.

This moon asks:

Where am I overworking?
Where do I need stronger boundaries?
What goals still matter to me?
What emotional baggage am I carrying that no longer belongs on the path I’m building?

This is a beautiful moon for reflecting on your long-term goals, your career, your home life, your responsibilities, and the structures that support you. Not the ones that drain you. The ones that actually help you grow.

A simple Strawberry Moon practice:

Place a jar of water near a window under the moonlight and label it with one grounded habit or intention you are calling in, such as:

“Healthy boundaries”
“Consistent saving”
“Leaving work on time”
“Trusting my next step”
“Building a life that supports me”

The next day, you can use that moon water in a bath, pour a little into your plants, or keep it on your altar as a reminder of what you are choosing to grow.

You can also make a small offering of strawberries, flowers, or herbs outside as a thank-you for the abundance already around you.

This moon is saying:

Be grateful for the harvest.
Be honest about the work.
Release what cannot come with you.
Build something that can hold the life you actually want.

Happy Full Strawberry Moon, loves.

One goal I’ve always wanted for Naugh-Tea Nook is for it to feel welcoming to everyone—including the children.

Today, I picked up a table for the kids’ area! It gives them a cozy spot to sit, color, and enjoy a little whimsy of their own while parents, grandparents, and guardians browse the shop.

Even better, they’ll have coloring pages created by two of our Indie Wall artists, Catieboo and Belmedioni Illustrations. I love being able to create a space that not only welcomes families, but also showcases the creativity of the amazing artists in our community.

It’s a small addition, but it’s another step toward making the Naugh-Tea Nook feel a little more like home for everyone who walks through the door.

The Naugh-Tea Nook will be closed today for Beltane Eve.

This is a night for tending the flame,
not just the ones we light,
but the ones we’ve been quietly building.

Beltane has always been about fire, growth, and stepping fully into what you’re creating and that includes taking a moment to actually be in it.

We’ll be back after, ready to pour, read, and hold space again.

Until then—tend your fire.

There’s a certain kind of story that lingers—
one you don’t just read, but settle into.

May’s selection for the Naugh-Tea Ghouls is A Tempest of Tea by Hafsah Faizal.
A world of hidden teahouses, quiet power, and carefully kept secrets.

This month’s gathering is designed to feel like stepping inside the story:

• A signature tea inspired by the Bloodhouse
• Guided discussion with interactive prompts
• A warm, intimate setting where conversation comes naturally
• A space to slow down, connect, and be present

You don’t need to know anyone.
You don’t need to have all the answers.

Just bring yourself—and maybe a curiosity for what unfolds when good stories and good company meet.

Join us for May.
