CURRENT POURED INTO ARTESIA RECIPIENT: COHEN NAILON.

This month we'll be raising money in our efforts to assist the Nailon Family with their medical expenses.

Starting May 11th, our featured menu item is our Café de Olla from our Spring Menu. We created this drink last year after a request, which we don't always do. However, it kept popping up everywhere so figured it's a sign. This house made syrup based on a traditional drink from Mexico feature piloncillo sugar, cinnamon, clove, star anise and orange peel. It's a drink you can find .

What should be a joyful season for Cody & Kaylee Nailon has quickly turned into a journey filled with uncertainty and courage. Their baby boy, Cohen, has been diagnosed with multiple serious heart conditions and will need immediate, life-saving care after birth—including several surgeries.

In the coming days, Kaylee will relocate to Fort Worth, more than 7 hours from home, to be close to the hospital where Cohen will be delivered. He is expected to remain there for at least 6 months.

This means time away from home, family, and everything familiar—while walking through one of the hardest seasons of their lives as new parents.

Through Poured Into Artesia, we have the opportunity to surround the Nailon family with love and support as they face the unknown ahead.

With every purchase of the featured PIA menu item, we donate $1 to our recipient. If you’d like to donate more, we have a donation box set up inside the shop. 100% of the donations go to the family. At the end of the month, we total all PIA item sales and donations, then Written In Red Foundation Inc. matches it (with a $5k matching cap) dollar-for-dollar! So, your donations and purchase amounts are doubled!

PLEASE, don't forget to donate a few dollars to the donation bin! If you're outside Artesia and can't make it to the shop, private message us for details on how to donate.

CURRENT POURED INTO ARTESIA RECIPIENT: COHEN NAILON.

This month we'll be raising money in our efforts to assist the Nailon Family with their medical expenses.

Starting tomorrow, May 4th, our featured menu item is our Strawberry Basil Latte from our Spring Menu. Sounds a little odd for a latte flavor, right? You'll be surprised by how refreshing this drink is. You can order it steamed or iced, since there's no telling what the weather is going to be like around here. It's a drink you can find .

HAWAII ON THE SHELF...FOR DAYS NOW

A few weeks ago we roasted up some Hawaii Ka'u coffee beans, made 19 bags, posted about it and sold out in one day! And we were getting calls for days from customers asking if we had any left. On this roast though I decided to try something a little sneaky.

We roasted and bagged up another 19 bags of Hawaii and this time I just put it out on the shelf and didn't tell anyone. Thought it would give people a chance to try it out. However, we've only sold 1 bag in a week. I guess we have to post it, huh?

So...we still have plenty of bags on the shelf and if you missed out last time you better hurry cause the word is out!

SOOO, WE MIGHT HAVE ROASTED JUST A LITTLE TOO MUCH COFFEE

Last weekend we made our annual trek to the Southwest Chocolate and Coffee Fest in Albuquerque. And while it was humbling to have so many people tell us they were glad to see us back and have a line we couldn't see the end of, we did bring a few too many bags of coffee for sale.

These bags feature this year's coffee fest artwork and while supplies last are selling for 20% off. We have a selection of Golden Pecan, Black Gold, Trifecta espresso, Brazil and Ethiopia.

Last time they sold pretty quick so you better hurry.

We’re only 3 days away from our biggest event of the year! We’ll be towing the trailer to Abq where we’ll be selling drip coffee, Lotus energy drinks and lattes, many featuring our house made syrups and sauces.

We’ll also be selling our coffees, that we just roasted yesterday, featuring commemorative artwork from this year’s festival. Try a free sample of each coffee.

If you’re in Abq or need a weekend getaway, come check out this amazing festival that includes coffee, small batch chocolates, live music, beer, wine and cocktails.

Come find us by the live stage and say hi!

A couple of weeks ago, while out of town, I was forced to eat breakfast at a chain (support local!). It was a popular joint so even though I was reluctant, my hopes were up.

And they were quickly dashed.

Dry bread, flavorless meat and I had to open it up to find the egg which was this thin sheet folded up in the middle. I watched customer after customer order these sandwiches. I couldn't help but think how they don't even compare to what we're putting out.

Pictured on the left is our boiled-in-house Green Chile Cheddar bagel, Boar's Head cheddar cheese, scrambled eggs (2-3 eggs worth!), house made sausage and some cayenne pepper sauce.

Pictured on the right is our fresh baked croissant, thick cut bacon, Boar's Head maple honey ham, and chipotle lime mayo.

If you haven't tried our breakfast sandwiches I think today is a good time.

One of our wholesale accounts, Hot Shot Espresso in Carlsbad, recently faced the loss of one of their former employees at a very young age. They are having a fundraiser for her to help support her new family. If you're from Carlsbad, or find yourself in Carlsbad tomorrow, please stop by there and support their efforts. The following is about Trish and the fundraiser.

We are heartbroken to share the passing of someone who was once a part of our Hot Shot Espresso family, Trish. Even though it’s been some time since she worked with us, Trish left a lasting impact on our team and our customers. If you ever came through when she was here, you remember her kindness, her warmth, and the way she made people feel—she always had a smile on her face. She was also a talented local photographer, capturing special moments for so many in our community.

📢To support her family and her new baby during this time, we will be hosting a fundraiser this Friday in her honor.
• 50% of all profits that day will go directly to her family
• Trish’s favorite drink — almond lattes — will have 100% of profits donated
• We are currently designing a t-shirt in her honor. Pre-orders will open by Friday, and 100% of profits from those will go to her family as well

We want to show up for her and her family with the same love Trish gave to so many others.

Live like Trish — with kindness, warmth, and a heart for others.

If you knew Trish, loved her, or were impacted by her in any way, we would love for you to stop by, share a memory, or simply help us support her family.

Thank you for helping us surround her family with love during this incredibly difficult time. ❤️

VERY LIMITED TIME SPECIAL COFFEE

We were given the rare opportunity to share a bag of Hawaiian coffee and jumped at the chance. We will only be able to offer this while supplies last and I don't think it will last long.

This coffee comes from the big Island of Hawaii in the Ka'u region which borders Kona. While you can find coffee in several regions of Hawaii, Kona has become its most popular. Kona's fame has not always allowed other regions to shine. However, this coffee from a micro lot farm on the southern tip of Hawaii truly shines.

We have really enjoyed the smooth, light acidity and subtle fruity notes of this coffee. This medium roast is roasted to a degree that I personally don't always enjoy, but there's just something about this coffee that shocked me how much I enjoyed it. Is it the grower? Is it the roaster? I'd like to think it's just a great collab between the two.

This coffee will be sold only in person and not available online. Come try it out and let us know what you think. Maybe someday it will make a return.

Unlike yesterday's "special," this is not a joke.
