In the Fall of 2009, Chef Tonya Morris set out to fulfill a dream of franchising an innovative restaurant concept. Experiencing all the difficulties of working in the day-to-day restaurant business, she knew that was not a long term goal and aspired to greater heights. Soon after closing her catering company, she transitioned the same space into My Potato Factory to finish out her
lease. Her inten
tion was "testing" a concept of a huge potato stuffed with a tasty variety of homemade fillings. During testing of the new concept, Chef Tonya found her hands full while people lined up to find out the BIG deal with the BIG potato. With little to no advertisement, other than word of mouth, My Potato became a huge draw to the Downtown Atlanta judicial district. After her lease was up, Chef Tonya decided to close that location in order to strategically plan the franchising of My Potato Factory in the near future. With a few good friends and a few good dollars, she
set out to change the spectrum of the quick serve food industry. Her goal of having 10 stores open in 5 years
would spawn from her new location within the West End Community of Atlanta. Keeping in mind her experiences in her 20+ years in the restaurant business, she continued to implement the importance of consistency in quality products and excellent customer service, while keeping operational cost low along with maintaining a great location. In addition to this chef driven concept is a program strategically designed to drive community economic development. The 3E Program's mission is to Educate, Employ and Empower each associate:
- Giving necessary tools to succeed not only at work, but in life as well.
- We make it our goal to hire “Eagles” with the community. Eagles are people who will take our business to a higher level through training and development.
-We give people tools, get them thinking, and hopefully inspire them to do something, like develop the next big idea for the company or maybe even there own company. These lesson's along with our Eco Friendly and sustainable food initiative would soon lay the foundation for My Potato Factory to successfully begin...
