I try my best not to shop on Sundays. The Market doesn't open until 9 and puts me behind if I have to go. But if I need something, I need something. The objective here is to run everything as low as possible on Sundays and start the whole process over starting tomorrow. Tomorrow? Aren't you closed? The shop is closed, and it's a relaxed day for me, but not without prep and set up for the next week. In fact Last Monday was the 1st Monday in 3 years that I didn't come to the Shop. Golf in the am, Lunch @ the Buffet and then some prep and organization. When there's no interference or pressure of business, it's really relaxing to be able to work at a slower pace and sit back and think of how fortunate we are to have this family business. I would have never thought of it 10 years ago. What happened was I ran into a impasse. I had kind of out priced myself. I landed a really great Opportunity. However, they didn't operate w/ the same Value Philosophy that I have. I just couldn't do it. I gave it 1000% but quickly abandoned the opportunity. Bewildered on what I was going to do, I searched for Pizza Shops for Sale. Why Pizza? Well I thought it would be the simplest type of Food Service, that could withstand Economic Uncertainty. I mean come on, whose going to stop eating Pizza. So I found a 4 time Failing Business and threw everything I had at it. It took only 4 months to become viable,(breakeven). A year to turn a slight profit. And about 2 Years to start earning a descent living. By year 3 to Selling @ 3 & 1/2 years, we had turned this failed business into a little juggernaut. I sold it back to the person I bought it from. He used my name to ride on my coattails, and bled it dry of all it's success. He then sold his crumbling and deteriorating business to an unqualified person who never really got it off the ground. Then an established Company gave it a Try to no avail. Closed after 1 year. I tried to buy it back, but the Landlord had other plans. So Attleboro was the closest thing to what we had created back in Norton. It's been a slow build here. The Economy I believe is mostly to blame. I mean, I'm very pleased w/ the product we serve. But I know my dining habits have changed. We just don't have the money to dine out like we used to. So our goal of quality food & service at a reasonable price, continues. Very Thankful for this Opportunity. Grinding & Plugging along. We have 2 more weeks before Vacation. It's tough for me to go away without the worry & pressure that comes along with the Benefits of Ownership. I turn 65 2 days before we go away, so I'll consider this a Birthday Present, as seeing my In-laws is an incredible time. July 5th is our 3rd Year Anniversary. When My Wife and I moved in, it was with a plan of 8 years and then partial retirement. Hoping to find the right person to take over while I sit at home on my butt, and only come in when I wanted or truly needed. It looks to be more like an 18 year plan now. But whatever it is, the goal will always remain the same. High Quality Food & Service at a Value Price. The Robinson Family Thanks all of you for your past & continued Support. It Truly is a Family business, serving Families & the community.
