Just a couple of the treats available at the Owasco Elementary "Shop til you drop" event tonight from 6 to 9. In addition to the Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti and the Mini Pumpkin Pies, I will also have Gluten Free Super Fudge Brownies and Chocolate Peanut Butter Bars. Stop by and help support our school.

This is selfish garbage. If you want your kids to have traditional baked goods, then serve them at home. The point if parties at school is to include everyone and there are so many options available: fruits, vegetables, cheese sticks,popcorn or if you're set on cupcakes there are specialty bakers that can help you come up with a recipe or make something for you. Yes purchasing these items may cost a little more but the lesson that you teach your child about helping others invaluable. A little bit of compassion goes a long way. You never know when the shoe could be on the other foot.

I agree that a teacher should let all parents know about any life-threatening allergies in a classroom. However, my kid shouldn't have to forgo his birthday cake because yours can't eat it....
