I'd like to share a heartwarming moment I shared with a customer yesterday.
I was notified that a woman in the dining room wished to speak to a manager.
"Which one is she?", I asked.
"The woman in the pink blouse", Keegan answered.
I approached the woman in the pink blouse and introduced myself.
"I'm Jane", she said as she held tightly folded bills of varying denomination in front of her chest. "I want you to use this to feed a veteran", she said, her voice trembling..."My brother was a veteran...and...he died at Vietnam". I was overcome with emotion and wrapped my arms around this stranger whom I had never met and held her tightly. I told her how much I appreciated her brother's sacrifice and her generosity. And just like that, she was gone. Like an angel dropping in to restore my faith in humanity. She turned and walked away with tears in her eyes and I returned to the kitchen with tears in mine.

We had the pleasure of seeing many new faces in the dining room this weekend—most notably Doug Hance, of Augusta, who celebrated his 71st birthday with us Sunday evening. 🎉🥳I had the pleasure of sharing a moment with Doug, and learned of his recent health struggles. He has rebounded, thankfully, through resilience and a positive attitude that has helped him to persevere through the setbacks. His optimism is infectious, inspiring, and a beacon of hope for those encountering similar struggles. It was truly a pleasure to meet you, Doug. We hope you had a wonderful birthday 🎉 and we'll be here to serve you on your 72nd‼️😊
