It has come to light that our business practices are being questioned. It pains me to know that our community centered approach and belief that our Team Members should not have to rely on tips to make a living has been misconstrued, as a malicious attempt to steal money for our Team Members.
We have a $14/hr guaranteed minimum for all our hourly Team Members, including servers, implementing Chicago style server practices before it became the industry norm. The tips are collected so we can correctly calculate the amount due to each Team Member.
In addition to the guaranteed minimum, we have created opportunities for growth, raises and bonuses. We even go as far as providing paid breaks, meals, and uniforms. To hear calls for us to be ‘exposed’ and ‘shut down’ from people is especially hurtful, when we’ve been active participants in our community with donations to local charities and high school fundraisers.
We want to continue to be a part of our community at large and understand that can only be possible with the mutual trust and understanding of our community. So, we will continue to do what is right to take care of our Team and our community.
