You don’t have to travel to Myanmar to feel at home with a Burmese mom. ❤️
Meet Yee Yee, the Mom behind Mom’s Special Cooking.

In Myanmar, when someone visits, we make sure they’re well-fed. We sit, share food, and somehow always eat more than we planned. 😄
That’s a little piece of home we want to share with Austin.

Whether you grew up eating Burmese food or have never tried Mohinga or Green Tea Salad (Laphet Thoke) you’re always welcome here.
Come hungry, try something new, and make yourself at home.

There’s always room for one more at Mom’s table. ❤️

Some meals just need extra rice. This is one of them. 🤤
Crispy, golden chicken coated in a sesame sauce that’s a little sweet, a little savory, and so good with hot rice.
And those crispy edges covered in sauce? That’s the best part. You’ll find yourself reaching for another piece before you’ve even finished the first one.
That’s Mom’s Sesame Chicken, right here in North Austin. ❤️
Got a friend who always orders Sesame Chicken? You know who to bring!

Austin has plenty of noodle bowls. But this weekend, we’re serving one the way we eat it back home in Myanmar. 🇲🇲
🍜 Coconut Noodles
Imagine a spoonful of warm, creamy coconut broth, noodles coated in all that rich flavor, and a crispy bite in between. A little lime, a little chili, and you’ll want to keep going back for another spoonful.
🥥 Mont Let Saung
And after something warm and savory? A cold, sweet glass of Mont Let Saung. Creamy, refreshing, with soft, chewy bites. The kind of dessert you’ll keep sipping even when you’re full.
Just the Burmese food we grew up eating. ❤️
Got a friend who’s always looking for something new to eat? This is your weekend plan!

You know a dessert is good when everyone at the table wants a bite. 🥭

That’s our Mango Sticky Rice!

Sweet, juicy mango, soft and chewy sticky rice, and creamy coconut milk that soaks right into the rice. It’s sweet, a little salty, and so good together.

You start with one bite of mango and sticky rice, and before you know it, you’re scraping up the last little bit from the plate.

So next time you’re at Mom’s, make sure you leave a little room for dessert. ❤️

Your new favorite Pad Thai spot might actually be a Burmese restaurant. 👀❤️
Imagine a plate of warm rice noodles tossed in a sweet, tangy sauce, with a little smoky flavor from the wok, crunchy peanuts, and a squeeze of fresh lime.

The kind of Pad Thai you’ll still be craving the next day.
And while you’re at Mom’s Special Cooking, you should try our Laphet Thoke too!
It’s a traditional Burmese tea leaf salad with tangy, savory flavors, roasted peanuts, sesame, and lots of crunch in every bite.

Two totally different dishes, but both are so good!
So grab your favorite food buddy, come enjoy some Pad Thai, and try a little taste of Myanmar while you’re here. 🇲🇲
