Roasted Butternut Squash Soup (Zuppa): roasted butternut squash with goat cheese crème fraîche and croutons.
Wood Oven Roasted Beets (Barbabietole Arrosto): gold and red beets from the wood oven with pear, smoked paprika labneh, aged balsamic, extra virgin olive oil, and pistachios.
SECONDI
Wood Grilled Flat Iron Steak (Bistecca di Manzo): flat iron steak off the wood grill over soft white Parmesan polenta, with charred heirloom tomatoes and Italian salsa verde.
Mediterranean Branzino: brown butter seared branzino filet with roasted potatoes, charred broccolini, Kalamata olive relish, and a lemon butter sauce.
We’ve been cooking Tuscan cuisine in Austin since 2000, 26 years now, and the weekend specials rotate, so what you see here won’t be here forever. If you’re looking for authentic Italian in Austin for a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday dinner, this is a good set of plates to plan around.
We open at 4:30 PM. Thursday we’re open until 9:00 PM, and Friday and Saturday until 9:30 PM. Call us to reserve a table.
Earlier in the week, Monday is $26 Dinner for 26 Years with a Sicilian pasta, which is our favorite offering if you’re looking for pasta in Austin. Tuesday is Tuesday at the Bar, Wednesday is W**e Lovers Wednesday with 25% off every bottle, and Thursday is Thirsty Thursday with $10 signature cocktails.
Pro Tip: Ask your server for a w**e to go with the Mediterranean Branzino or the Bistecca di Manzo. The lemon butter sauce on one and the salsa verde on the other point toward different glasses, and your server can walk you through the Italian list.
