𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄: 𝐃𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠!

A little change of plans—and a lot to be grateful for.

Our 𝐃𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 is moving to just 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐 𝐚𝐭 𝟔 𝐏𝐌. On Sunday, we’ll gather with our ancestors in a different way at BASS CHURCH : 𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐕𝐞𝐢𝐥. The Enchanted Waffle & Elixirs will offer Dance of the Ancestors, bringing the spirit of our dinner to the dance floor.

We’ll share our flagship Build Your Dream Waffle Bar, a few special tastes from Monday’s Mexican-inspired dinner menu, and a community ancestral altar built together. Just as we invite you to do at the dinner, please bring a photo or keepsake of someone you want close, to add to the altar. Let their memory travel with you through the music, the food, and the movement. There’s room for them in the circle.

We’re grateful to Avatara for welcoming this offering into Lift the Veil, and to everyone making space in their weekend to gather with us. We can’t wait to pray, play, dine, and dance alongside you.

A little flower shopping around Austin today… but these aren’t just any flowers. 🌼🧡

We’re preparing for our Dining with the Ancestors — Día de los Mu***os Dinner on November 1st & 2nd, and I stopped by a local Austin nursery to pick up some beautiful Mexican marigolds!

Marigolds, or cempasúchil, have a really special place in Mexican Día de los Mu***os traditions. Their vibrant orange and golden colors, along with their distinctive aroma, are believed to help guide the spirits of loved ones back to the altars and celebrations prepared in their honor.

I’ve always loved how plants can carry so much cultural history and meaning beyond their culinary uses.

And of course… I couldn’t resist finding a way to bring these flowers into our elixir program. 🧪

Mexican marigold (Tagetes erecta) is also an interesting botanical because its flowers contain:

🌼 Lutein & zeaxanthin — carotenoid pigments studied for their role in supporting eye health.

🌿 Antioxidant compounds — including flavonoids and carotenoids that help protect cells from oxidative stress.

🧡 Aromatic compounds — responsible for the flower’s distinctive scent and part of what makes marigolds so recognizable.

We’re planning to incorporate Mexican marigold into one of our handcrafted elixir offerings for the dinner, bringing another layer of connection between the ingredients, the traditions, and the people we’re gathering to remember.

I love getting to explore these little details as we build out our menus. Every ingredient gives us another opportunity to learn something and share it with the people we’re feeding.

Looking forward to sharing this experience with ya’ll on November 1st & 2nd. 🌼🕯️

We’ve talked about a brick-and-mortar for a long time.

Now I want to start showing you what that search actually looks like.

This week, we toured a space in North Central Austin, not far from the Domain, and for the first time in a while I walked through somewhere and thought:

…okay. There might actually be something here.

Nothing is locked in yet. We’re still looking, asking questions, running numbers, imagining layouts, thinking about kitchens, service flow, events, community space, parking, visibility — all the unglamorous little pieces that eventually become a home.

But I figured, why keep that process hidden?

The Enchanted Waffle has been built in public in so many ways already. You’ve watched us cater apartments, festivals, weddings, wellness gatherings, private dinners, pool parties, corporate events and some truly weird little culinary experiments along the way.

So as we work toward finally planting some roots of our own, I want to bring you with us.

We’ll share more of the spaces we tour, what we’re looking for, what excites us, what doesn’t work, and hopefully — eventually — the place where we get to say:

This is home.

This North Central Austin spot has some real potential.

Could you see The Enchanted Waffle here? 👀🧇🌿

Follow along. The brick-and-mortar chapter is getting a little more real.

A lot has been moving behind the scenes at The Enchanted Waffle & Elixirs lately, so I wanted to sit down and give a real update on where we’re at, what’s been happening, and where we’re headed next.

We just came off an incredible Solarpunk Summit where we had the honor of running the very first Solarpunk-sponsored bar through Enchanted Elixirs.

It was a huge moment for us.

We got to test new systems, put our new drink machine through its paces, serve a ton of people, and really experience what it feels like to nourish a community at a larger scale. I walked away from that weekend feeling incredibly grateful, proud, and even more clear about what we’re building.

In this video I also talk a little about what’s next.

We’re looking for more salespeople to help us grow.

We’re continuing the search for the right brick-and-mortar space and figuring out what that next chapter could actually look like.

And we’re getting ready for one of the most meaningful gatherings we host each year: our Día de los Mu***os — Dining with the Ancestors experience.

There’s a lot happening.

A lot growing.

A lot still being figured out.

But more than anything, I’m grateful.

Grateful for the people showing up.
Grateful for the opportunities.
Grateful for the challenges that keep sharpening the vision.
And grateful that this little dream keeps becoming more real.

If you’ve been following along for a while, thank you.

If you’re new here, welcome.

There’s a lot more coming.

Last year, we gathered around a table to do something a little different. To share a meal, remember those we’ve lost, give thanks for those who came before us, and celebrate the beautiful gift of being alive. ❤️

These are a few moments from our very first Dinner with the Ancestors.

Inspired by Día de los Mu***os, Ashleigh Hakes and The Enchanted Waffle are bringing this experience back for TWO nights this November!

We’re combining some of our favorite ways to nourish the human experience:

🌽 A three-course, organic, farm-to-table dinner
🍫 Handcrafted non-alcoholic elixirs
🕯️ A community ancestor altar
🧘 Guided death meditation
🎶 An immersive sound bath

A little culinary magic, a little interdimensional nourishment, and a whole lot of gratitude.

Because remembering those we’ve lost can also be a beautiful way of celebrating the lives we’re living. 🦋

🌼 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 & 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡? 🦋

It’s a question that has inspired us to think a little deeper about the way we gather, the food we share, and the people who have shaped our lives.

For generations, Día de los Mu***os has brought families and communities together through food, music, stories, gratitude, and remembrance.

We believe there’s something truly magical about that. ❤️

When we cook for someone, we’re offering a little of ourselves. When we share a meal, we’re creating memories. And when we remember those who came before us, we give their stories another opportunity to live on.

This November 1st & 2nd, The Enchanted Waffle & Ashleigh Hakes are bringing Dinner with the Ancestors back to Austin!

✨ Three-course organic, farm-to-table dinner
🍫 Handcrafted non-alcoholic elixir pairings
🌺 Community ancestor altar
🧘‍♀️ Guided death meditation
🎶 Live quantum sound immersion

A gathering designed to nourish the body, mind, heart, and perhaps even the spaces between worlds.

In this video, Ashleigh and I share a little of the musical magic that will help guide our ceremony.

The intention is simple: to remember, to give thanks, and to celebrate this beautiful gift of being alive.

🧡 There’s a place for you at our table.

🌼 How do you celebrate the gift of life AND death? 🦋

One of the things we love about Disney’s Coco is the beautiful reminder that those we’ve lost can continue to live through our memories, stories, traditions, and the love we carry for them.

What if death wasn’t something we only mourned, but something that invited us to celebrate life more deeply?

For generations, Día de los Mu***os has been a time to gather, remember, share food, tell stories, and honor those who came before us. A beautiful reminder that remembrance can be filled with laughter, nourishment, gratitude, and love.

This November 1st & 2nd, The Enchanted Waffle & Ashleigh Hakes invite you to Dinner with the Ancestors. ❤️

We’re coming together once again to explore the spaces between life and death, the physical and the spiritual, the people sitting beside us and those we carry in our hearts.

Through a lovingly prepared three-course farm-to-table dinner, handcrafted botanical elixirs, a guided death meditation, a community ancestor altar, and an immersive sound bath, we’re creating space for nourishment on many levels.

Some might call it interdimensional nourishment. We simply believe that sharing food, intention, and love has a way of connecting us beyond what we can see. ✨

Whether you’re remembering someone you’ve lost, reflecting on your own journey, or simply wishing to experience something meaningful with your community, there’s a place for you at our table.

🌺 The veil is thin. The table is set. You’re invited.

☕Nanofrothed Ceremonial Cacao + Coffee

A lot of what makes our drinks special at The Enchanted Waffle & Elixirs honestly comes down to little things like this magical tool here!

We’re always testing new tools behind the bar, adjusting texture, changing how we blend things, and figuring out how to make something feel better in the cup — not just taste good.

Lately we’ve been playing with the NanoFoamer NanoFoamer V2, and I’ve really been enjoying what it does for drinks like this one.

This is our ceremonial cacao from OhmGnomes + coffee from Waka Coffee & Tea build, and the frother gives it this thick, silky, almost cloud-like texture that completely changes the experience of the drink. How? Well due to the microscreen and sheer power of the blade it spins pushing the material through the screens gives any drink an aeration unlike anything else handheld.

That kind of magical touch really matters to us at The Enchanted Waffle.

Our chef, Miguel, is constantly trying to figure out how to make what we serve feel more intentional, more refined, and a little more magical without making it overly complicated.

And honestly, this is one of those tools we’d recommend for home use too. If you’re into cacao, coffee, matcha, golden milk, or plant-based drinks, it’s a fun way to play with texture and elevate what you’re already making.

A real simple way to think about what The Enchanted Waffle is doing is:

We find the best ingredients, best tools, best methods, put them all together and see what happens.

If you’ve only known us for waffles, there’s a whole other side of what we do waiting for you.
