Focaccia, but make it spooky! 👻🎃

This Halloween, we're revisiting one of our favorite spooky recipes from the Farmhouse Delivery blog. With a little inspiration from Ghoul at Heart and Natasha's Kitchen, we turned some of our favorite fresh produce into a spooky Halloween scene.

Sweet potatoes became pumpkins and ghosts, red cabbage turned into bats, radishes made the perfect little gravestones, and fresh thyme brought the graveyard grass to life. All arranged on homemade focaccia dough and finished with a delicious rosemary garlic herb sauce.

This one's a bit of a weekend project, taking about 4 hours from start to finish (a good dough needs her rest!), but don't let that scare you. There's only about 30 minutes of hands-on dough prep and 25 minutes of baking.

Swipe for a peek at the recipe, then head to our blog for the full post, step-by-step instructions, and inspiration for creating your own spooky scene!

A quicker dinner can still support the people raising your food.

Our marinated meats start with locally sourced ingredients from Texas suppliers we’re proud to partner with. For these featured Farmhouse Kitchen favorites, that includes Texas Angus beef from Dean & Peeler, a family-run South Texas cattle operation committed to responsibly raising their animals, and pasture-raised chicken from Greener Pastures in Elgin, where regenerative farming practices put animal care and the health of the land at the center.

We take that same care into the Farmhouse Kitchen, adding flavorful marinades so they arrive seasoned, ready to cook, and easier for you to get dinner ready.

Check out the producers behind a few of our marinated favorites!

🔥 Texas Black Diamond Marinated Flank Steak — premium Dean & Peeler Texas Angus beef marinated with garlic, cracked black pepper, oregano, tamari, and apple c***r vinegar

🌮 Marinated Fajita Beef Strips — Texas Black Angus beef from Dean & Peeler with a savory, citrus-forward fajita flavor

🌶️ Organic Marinated Texas Fajita Chicken Thighs — pasture-raised chicken from Greener Pastures marinated with fresh lime, toasted cumin, New Mexican chile, garlic, and tamari

🌿 Pasture-Raised Marinated Greek Chicken Breast — pasture-raised chicken from Greener Pastures with a savory, herb-forward blend of parsley, oregano, basil, and garlic

Make sure to add a marinated meat (or two!) to your next Farmhouse order!

Meet Doublegate Family Farm, the newest farm to join our egg lineup 🐓

Paul Exley has over a decade of experience caring for poultry and is an enthusiast of all things birds. He and his family are committed to being thoughtful stewards of the land and the animals in their care.

Most of their hens are rescues from large operations that keep birds for a single laying cycle before selling them for slaughter. At Double Gate, they get time to rest, go through a natural molt, and start laying again, living out their full lives on pasture.

This summer’s heat was hard on Texas flocks everywhere. Hens naturally lay less when temperatures climb, and small farms don’t have a giant backup supply to lean on. Bringing on another local partner means more support for the whole network while our longtime farms’ hens rest and recover.

And it all comes full circle when those locally raised eggs make their way into your weekly Farmhouse haul, just like .ms shared 🥚

Seasons like this are when small farms need their community most. Every Farmhouse order supports all of our local farmers and ranchers, through the hard seasons and the good ones.

Beans, beans, they’re good for your heart. The more you eat, the more you… well, you know the rest. 🫘

Fiber might not be the most exciting thing to talk about, but the foods that contain it certainly can be. Beans are one of our favorites: naturally rich in fiber and plant-based protein, incredibly versatile, and an easy way to add something nourishing (and delicious) to your plate.

They’ve also been getting some well-deserved attention thanks to the Dense Bean Salad. Coined by recipe creator , the idea is simple: beans tossed with plenty of vegetables, herbs, and a flavorful dressing for a hearty salad that only gets better as it sits.

To inspire a little more bean-eating, we’re giving away a Steve Sando and the Rancho Gordo staff Heirloom Bean Variety Pack to one lucky winner! 🎉

Rancho Gordo is known for sourcing and growing heirloom beans with exceptional flavor, texture, and history behind them. Founder Steve Sando started selling heirloom beans at farmers markets, and today Rancho Gordo works with small farms in the U.S. and Mexico to help preserve unique varieties that might otherwise disappear.

Rich and full-bodied, Rancho Gordo’s Christmas Lima Beans are an unusual take on the classic lima, with a distinctive velvety, chestnut-like texture. They become creamy with continued cooking and hold their own alongside bold flavors, making them especially good in soups, salads, casseroles, curries, or dishes with mushrooms and cheese.

Even Rancho Gordo calls these a favorite for converting people who think they don’t like lima beans.

Rich, creamy, and mild, Rancho Gordo’s Yellow Eye Beans cook up soft and smooth with a distinctive russet potato-like texture. Their mild flavor makes them incredibly versatile, taking on the flavors of whatever they’re cooked with.

More behind the scenes from our visit to Keepers Harvest Bee Farm 🍯🐝

We got a closer look at what it really takes to produce raw, pure, unfiltered Texas honey, from the day-to-day life of a beekeeper to the care that goes into every jar.

Keepers Harvest was founded in response to a much bigger problem in the honey industry: much of the honey consumed in the U.S. is imported, and adulteration has made it harder to know exactly what you’re buying.

At Keepers Harvest, the process is refreshingly simple. Their honey goes from the hive through a 600-micron strainer and into the jar. The strainer removes larger bits of wax and debris while still allowing naturally occurring pollen to pass through, one of the reasons many people seek out local raw honey during allergy season.

No excessive heating. No added syrups. Just raw, unfiltered Texas honey, made by people who care deeply about their bees and the integrity of every jar 🫶

Nothing says summer in Texas quite like peach season. 🍑

Our juicy yellow peaches come from Fredericksburg Peach Company, a family-owned business that’s been connecting Texans with local produce since 1984. Today, they work with 30 growers across the state to bring the best of the season to our tables.

Grill them, toss them into a summer salad, bake them into a galette, or enjoy one perfectly ripe over the sink. Peach season doesn’t last forever, so enjoy it while it’s here. 💛

Every peach starts with the same care from Fredericksburg Peach Co.. But during peak season, some ripen a little faster or pick up a few bumps and bruises along the way.

They’re still incredibly sweet, juicy, and full of flavor, just not always the right fit for our boxes.

So instead of letting those peaches go to waste, our Farmhouse Kitchen chefs transform them into our small-batch Texas Peach Jam. It’s one more way we make the most of a great harvest while preserving the taste of Texas peach season.

Available for a limited time while peaches are in season. Grab a jar before they’re gone! 🍑🫶
