āšæ ESSEX CDC BUSINESS SPOTLIGHT: COFFEE BALAM! šæā
Essex CDC is excited to spotlight Coffee Balam, founded by Cinthia Gamboa Gomez and Will Anderson! Coffee Balam brings the rich flavors, traditions, and culture of Costa Rica to coffee lovers through specialty, single-origin coffee sourced directly from the Nicoya Peninsula, one of the world's renowned Blue Zones.
ā More Than Just Coffee!
Coffee Balam partners directly with small-scale coffee producers in Costa Rica to offer traceable specialty roasts and handcrafted clay Vandola coffee brewers. Their popular products include the Costa Rica Coffee Sampler Pack, Alfaro Master Roast, and Tiesto Anaerobic Fermented Coffee. Coffee lovers can also explore subscription bundles through the MAE Coffee Club and experience immersive small-group coffee and culture tours in Costa Rica!
š Coffee With a Purpose
What makes Coffee Balam especially meaningful is its commitment to giving back. The business donates 5% of its profits to help preserve indigenous Chorotega heritage, supporting the culture and traditions of the community behind its coffee.
š¤ Growing in the Essex Community
Although Cinthia is new to the United States, she shared that Essex has welcomed her and made her feel like part of the community. Through local pop-ups and networking events, Coffee Balam continues to build connections and introduce its unique coffee experience to Essex residents. Coffee Balam coffee is currently on the menu at Charly's Waterfront.
Essex CDC is proud to support local businesses like Coffee Balam through networking, promotion, and connections to small business resources.
